One thing I wish would happen is the when we go 2-0 up before half time, come out after halftime with a much more shored up midfield. Get an extra body in there even if it means a wide player or forward dropping deeper. We lose control way too easy and get a little over run.

But even then, we were fine up until Mignolet forgot it wasn't a game in the backyard. It completely gave them momentum they didn't have.

Still only lost 1 of our last 16-17 games I believe so it's not all doom and gloom, it's just frustrating because it could be so much better.

Agree Nick, Mignolet has that Skrtel effect about him. Surely we bring a keeper in in the summer. I know ed2 has said we will but only a replacement for bogdan who will challenge Mignolet for the #1.

Just go and get Begovic, Horn or Karius. Keep ward as a number 2 and send Migs packing

Yeah it's so strange. People point out he's a good shot stopper but thats such a cop out. You only have to watch the best keepers and see what Migs lacks which is command of his area and command of the defence in front of him. He doesn't set the defence up at set pieces, he doesn't control the 6 yard box, he has rubbish distribution and has no idea how to come out and collect crosses.

To think Spurs paid roughly the same amount of $$$ for Lloris give or take a few mill. Get a new keeper in and the defence will improve dramatically IMO.

Don't know that defending with Mignolet and Lovren behind you would inspire confidence but thought the young fullback struggled.
Still these games that mean bugger all are the games to get experience.
What's happened to Flanno?

If you've actually been watching Liverpool lately you'd see that Lovren has been one of our best players :?

I have been watching Liverpool lately and that's your opinion.
He's made a few more 50/50 tackles lately than he had been before but it's his job along with Mignolet to sort the defence out and we're still as vulnerable as ever.
He'll dine out on his Europa winner for a while but I'd cash in on him while we can.

Mignolet doesn't make it easy for anyone, let alone Lovren. Lovren and Toure were managing just fine until Mignolet *somehow* f**ked up a rudimentary task of covering an innocuous cross. It's hard to defend when your goalkeeper is not even championship standard.

My opinion is our defence wasn't under any pressure whatsoever apart from what could've been a penalty that the young guy got the benefit of the doubt.(in the first half).
Was his name Randal- you know who I mean anyway?
As soon as there's pressure applied our back 5 including the keeper in this struggle.
Luckily for us most teams come to Anfield and play 10 behind the ball.
It's all about the structure and ours isn't anywhere near as solid as it should be when teams have a go at us.

Our centre backs are good, it's the fullbacks and keeper holding us back. Moreno has no positional sense, Clyne is average, Randall is sketchy when he plays, and it's forcing the centre backs to worry about them not doing their job. And that's not even touching on Mignolet, who is just pure rubbish and will make any defence unsure of themselves.

Yeah i dont think we can blame our CB's lately. We have fullbacks who are constantly caught out of position up field which pulls the defence out of position. Lovren has been quite good this season. Not amazing but solid which is all you need in a good team.

I was reading an article quoting Jamie Rednapp today.
He was comparing Arsenals side of this year to the team he captained in the 90s when the spice boys where in our side.
Anyway a stat came up about most defensive errors in the Premier League this year.
No surprise Liverpool were the worst with 29 errors.
2nd was Arsenal with 25.
You'd think the likes of Villa and Newcastle being at the lower end of the table would of topped this but no we've got them covered.

The S*n and The Times the only major UK papers not to put the inquest on the front page. The best that the S*n could muster was a laughable little editorial on page 12 to congratulate the result and remind everyone they've already said sorry in the past. I was wondering how Tony Barrett would react to what his employer did, and he actually tweeted 'unbelievable'.

Klopp got it wrong today. We need to be playing Sturridge. Bring him on as a sub at the bare minimum, we need to find a way to fit in our best striker, because we had no one up front today to receive service and score goals.

Yeah really odd call not playing him.

Only positive is they now have to come to Anfield. Hopefully we put on a show and defensively remain solid! I dare say they will sit back all game and only play on the counter
