That's even worse, getting it on the basis those merkins win a trophy. Hopefully we can turn it all around and get to the Champs League by taking out the Europa League. Leave thursday night football to the Manc scum.

Have to say Swansea football club were all class yesterday with there paying respects to the Hillsborough families and LFC. I also hear WBA will be doing the same when we visit them on the last day of the PL.

Other overnight results have just left me even more frustrated with the loss and other recent points being dropped. If we didn't capitulate to Southampton and Newcastle, and won last night, we'd be within such a good chance of making the top 4. United were always going to struggle against Leicester, plus have West Ham coming up, while City were always going to struggle against Southampton, and have Arsenal coming up. This is such an opportunity wasted and I'm f**king furious. We're better than this.

Most clubs will have that exact story though Nick, including those above you

But no one blows it like we do, we're the worst team for dropping points from winning positions, especially comfortable positions. Sunderland, Southampton, Newcastle.

Whilst your club is indeed rubbish, many points have been dropped by clubs from winning positions or bad official calls etc etc.

Everyone has an excuse, look at Chelsea, if that club wasn't so shit they'd have more points too.

I can't be bothered looking that far down the table to see how many points they have now, it's obviously not many as the plastics haven't posted for a while :)

It seems we've approached Udinese in relation to Piotr Zielinski. The link has been around for a while now and it's only now that we've finally spoken to his club about a possible move. Allegations of us tapping him up are hanging around the club and it has apparenty pissed off Udinese and I can't say I blame them either tbh.

Emre is boss. Just controls midfield so well. He has been huge these last 6 months. What a player.

Huge game against Sevilla. Image the better chances we have of getting the best players with champions league and Klopp. (Gotze ??)

Finish it off boys

3-0 in the second leg, and according to the match reports, they pretty much blew Sevilla away from the start even if the scoreboard did not show it at halftime.

I jumped for joy when I read the result. :D

http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2215121.html

If I have read it correctly, the winners of Europa would be out into the group stage of CL as both RM and AM would qualify directly to the group stages via league position.

If either RM or AM didn't do enough to get into group stage via league position then the winner of Europa would go into the qualifying stage.

I thought it was you win Europa you get in the qualifying rounds of the champions league.
Could be wrong as its only a recent incentive isn't it ?
I read an article a (can't remember how long ago)how the incentive to play champions league would stop clubs playing under strength sides in the Europa league and somehow got the impression you win you play champions league qualifiers.
Could be wrong and they could've changed the rule.
No doubt your article is way more up to date then what I would've read.
I'm confused by it but no doubt they'll make it pretty clear over the next couple of weeks leading up to the final.
My impression is we won't qualify as a top 4 English side so we have to take a play off position.

There maybe conditions ass Thorson referenced but I'm pretty sure Seville have gone in to the qualifying rounds in the last few years.

Sounds like its not straight forward.

You only go into qualifying rounds if the UCL winner didn't achieve group stage qualification via their league position. The privilege of direct qualification for group stage is only given to one of the two winners, and the UCL winner gets priority if they need it

Yeah and as both Madrids have qualified for group stage via their league standings the winner of Europa goes into the group stage.

So with City bottling it against Arsenal they now have no say in whether they will play Champions League next season.

We are left with a dilemma of Man U winning both their remaining games and qualifying, which would mean Sterling misses out.

Or Man U bottle it and fail to qualify meaning Sterling does.

Whilst i would prefer Man U to miss out, seeing that smug little merkin miss out (particularly if we win Europa) would be great.
