I will be a tad upset if we sell Sturridge.
He has always offered something different to the regular striker.
We can dominate teams playing a set way but Sturridge plays his own game.
Sometimes he doesn't come off looking a world class player or looks part of the team pattern but he can turn a game in an instant.
Mightn't of scored the goal today but if he doesn't come on we don't win.
Dude I was getting worried by how long it was taking Klopp to make a change and put Sturridge on. But given all the stoppages it was the equivalent of putting him on around the 65th minute.

The match report I read said they had at least 7 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the 2nd half. That indicates a lot of time lost for stoppages.

Latest transfer rumour, courtesy of The Sun, is we are looking at signing Kasper Schmeichel in the January transfer window. I mean I can see Leicester City agreeing to this one eh

f**k I'm so glad I pulled the truck over for my 15 minute rest break.

Got to catch the end of the game.

Thought Studge completely f**ked it up when he held onto the ball to take the shot.

Very good game. Gone are the days when we go down 1 nil and you don't think we can get back in it.
We looked the better of the teams even down a goal.
Lallana, wow, no idea where this patch has come from but I don't want it to end now. 7 goals, 6 assists before Christmas, he is absolutely killing it.

Big game v City. An absolute must win game.

Even when we play average we score 4 goals

First 30 minutes, Stoke took the game to us. No two ways to say it. Once Lallana scored the first goal, things changed. Stoke going in 2-1 down had to be a blow. 2nd half the lads really clicked and never really gave Stoke a sniff.

Lallana was the star of the show but Henderson, Milner, Origi and even Sturridge were not far behind. I think Ryan Shawcross should be credited with an assist for Sturridge's goal though :p

Lovren and Mignolet at the back still worry me. Lovren was aslpped and way out of position for Walters' goal, and Mignolet's attempted stop was poor (but it was not his fault - Lovren should not have let Walters get where he did). Klavan looked good at CB, I'd like to see him and Matip paired as Lovren looks too nervous at the back for mine.

Stoke took the game to us early and tried to bury it. That Allen goal goes in and I think they just do that. The Lallana goal through them off and then they were screwed. They ran out of stamina and ideas and we capitalised.
At 4-1 we could have scored 3 or 4 more but it looked like Klopp sent an instruction to play the game out and rest for City.

I am with you Apollo, I think once Matip is fit him and Klavan should be given a run of games together. Klavan has looked class, whilst Lovren still looks a liability.

I have liked what I have seen from Mignolet though, I can't blame him for the goal. He had to be thinking about the far post and trusted Lovren to defend better.
His all-round game was good though, he didn't flap, he came out for cross and punches clear and his distribution was surprisingly good.
Still, leaves a lot to desire with the ball at his feet but he is what he is, and at the moment he is more confident than Karius.
He isn't better than Karius, but his mental state is. Mignolet has been through this before and knows how to bounce back, I think that will actually be good for Karius.

Migs is still dodgy for mine. He hasn't looked like he has improved at all. Hes not at fault for the goal tho IMO, that cross should never have come in. Both mane and Clyne were more at fault than Migs. Tho to be that far from the near post when the cross was a near post cross wasn't too good. But Karius has deserved his little holiday so can't really complain too much about Migs.

Don't think his distribution was all that good as well. Still seems to kick the ball straight to an opposition player way too much.

What's the thoughts about the city game? We usually take it too them as they let us play football. Hopefully Anfield will be absolutely rocking and we go at them all game. I'm more than confident we'll out work them, just need to take every chance that comes our way. Can see Mane and Bobby F ripping Otamendi and stones a new one.

Jack I ddon't think it will be a low scoring game, as both teams defences have similar attributes as does there attack. Only thing thaty worries me, Man City get Aguero back in time for this game, he is way too good a player to ignore.

Well I was wrong. Not the first time.

Game on the whole was a bit scrappy, but Liverpool prevailed 1-0 from a thumping Wijnaldum header off a great cross from the left wing by Lallana in the 9th minute. Had all the running in the first half but could not quite crack Man City after that. City were flat in the 1st hald, but came out better in the 2nd. Defensively Liverpool were good.

Firmino I thought made some bad decisions when he had the ball in attacking positions in the 2nd half.

Milner, Lallana, Klavan were amongst our best.

Bad to se Henderson come off with a heel injury. He has to undergo tests to see how bad it is apparently.

Liverpool have proven wrong virtually every single doubt thrown at them. They've been able to win games without a fast start, they've been able to crack open parked buses, and they've been able to grind away ugly wins. All they have to do is not worry about Chelsea and just keep doing what they are doing. If they can manage that, then the 6-point gap will profoundly narrow and potentially flip our way because Chelsea will drop points here and there eventually.

For me, there is no doubt now that this is a title-challenging team, they've passed more than enough tests to prove that.

And I actually love that we played like shit (attacking-wise). Winning games (especially against City) when you're nowhere near top gear means you have serious credentials. If you're not near you're best but also getting outplayed and benefitting from opponents missing good chances, then it's a different story, but I don't think there has been one game this season when Liverpool have been convincingly outplayed, with or without 3 points.

So the game against Sunderland, no Mane, I'm assuming no Henderson, and probably no Couthino either. If this is correct, do we bring in Sturridge to striker, Origi to RW and drop Lallana back to central mid with Firmino on the left?
