how about ojo? so non-chalant. the next youngster to break through?

I really hope we start giving these kids a run and stop playing Lallana and even Ibe now.
Had a gutful of their performances.
Let the kids play the season out and see who is worth persevering with.

I agree, I don't think we'd be any worse with players like Kent/Ojo etc playing in the first team, it's not as if we'd lose lots of goals or assists lol.

hence my point re: benteke, at least he's proven he's capable of banging some in, at least more than lallana and ibe etc at this time

Ibe can be forgiven I suppose, he's young and he's been unlucky a few times. you can see he's improving all the time although he's got to be polished a bit more yet.

Lallana is just all fluff.

Lallana is shit, but Benteke is a striker. He's *meant* to score more goals than Lallana. He had a goal served to him on a silver platter today, but tripped the waiter and f**ked it up...again. Benteke, apart from his 1-2 with Smith, was ordinary once again.

there is no difference between what ibe and lallana is producing right now in terms of end result wether it be goals or assists....at least ibe will improve over time, he should be brought through in europa and cup games, lallana needs to go if he isn't going to produce.

Fair amount of talk on numerous pages regarding a bid for Alex Teixeria, Brazilian fella playing in Ukraine.

26 goals in 26 matches all up this season

Never seen him but lots of positive comments about him.

Teixeira has apparently already agreed to join Chelsea from what I've read. Just a matter of if its now or in the summer window. stranger things have happened tho, and I'd definitely welcome the signing.

When ed002 wrote that he had no idea what was going on with Liverpool, it's been a very rapid development. Like James Pearce said, Ayre wouldn't fly out there if he wasn't reasonably confident.

Negotiations have stalled with Chelsea because Akhmetov doesn't wanna sell him in January and only will if his high asking price is met, which Chelsea don't seem to want to meet. So Liverpool meanwhile have seemed to take notice of this and quickly swooped in to get something done.

He has no hamstring injury, he pulled up in training with a thigh problem and it's being scanned.

Chelsea have baulked at his price and feel they can find better value.

I believe we will get him but we will need to increase to about 30 to get him. I personally would just pay it and get it over with. Give us Klopps first big signing.

Still need a solid DM and a keeper, but the goal scoring problem should become a little better if we get this lad.

Yeah, and Chelsea aren't the only club to have bid for him. They've also rejected bids from Juve and PSG. Chelsea baulked at the price during negotiations because his price in fact rose while they were negotiating- why, I'm not too sure.

I'm happy to wait until the summer for a new DM and keeper if we have to. I think attack is by far our biggest problem. 25 league goals is very unacceptable and some more goals would ease the responsibility on our defence.

The last junket he came back from, he had a contract signed by Firmino in his hand. If you're seriously trying to reference Konoplankya then you're an idiot.

mhikityran salah diego Costa, not too mention delli ali etc as discussed recently.....

You're sticking up for Ian ayre's transfer history and you're calling me the idiot?

He is 26 now, he is not potential anymore. He is the finished product. He has 22 goals in 15 games this years.

I am not saying that 30 million is reasonable, it is probably way too steep, but we paid 25 million for Lallana and this guy is better than him.

You pay what the market dictates and if Klopp wants this guy as a key recruit, then we have to stump the cash up.
I can't see the suits who run this club wanting to fail him on his first major signing.

Looking at it from the bigger picture, I can see us running the false 9 system, and I could see this guy being our "striker" until Sturridge is fit. (More on that later in this post)

Ideally, you can see how Klopp is trying to build this team, high energy guys, and lots of them, so he can press.
This is why I genuinely believe there is a big interest in Gotze. And this is also why I think that Klopp will look to get Teixeria first, get his big recruit in, and then get Gotze in the summer.

Run the front line of the 3 Brazillians and Mario, with guys like Sturridge, Ibe, Ojo, gulp - Lallana and co as depth.

Klopp also came out, with direct quotes, and confirmed he is waiting on Sturridge, and referenced it to the 15 months he had to wait for Gundogan.
The small things he is doing is what makes him elite.

Sturridge, if they can get him right, will play an instrumental part in the way we will dictate the terms of the game we play.

Looking on the up.
