Looks like Mick Marsh has been given the ass or not renewed. Surely FSG don't see him as the problem. Scapegoat for Rodgers if ever I've seen one. Surely Pascoe has to go as well, being a yes man to Rodgers is not what we need.

We came sixth, bombed in Europe, bottled against Villa, lost 6-1 to Stoke...so it's Marsh's fault? f**king hell. That's just making change for the sake of making change, i.e. trying to look like you're fixing the problem.

We've essentially sacked the bloke who put out the cones at training. BR didn't bring Marsh in I don't think, pretty sure he was promoted from youth setup, meanwhile Pascoe will still more than likely keep his job no doubt.

Yeah, Pascoe is the one that Rodgers brought in. I'm unable to make a judgement about Pascoe's work because it's very hard to know unless you're at Melwood every day watching what he does...

Fair point Nick, tho he looks a yes man to BR IMO. Clearly doesn't coach any defence for us at the very least. Achterberg going next would be good, he's hardly set the world on fire in terms of a goalkeeper coach.

Just hope the club gets in a more defensive minded assistant to joint BR and Pascoe.

Bolo Zenden has returned and it looks as if Pascoe is gone as well now. FSG getting rid of BR's coaching staff it seems.

Not sure of the appointment either CJ. Don't follow the Dutch league so wouldn't even know if he's done anything with PSV. Maybe the club could bring Sami in for the defensive side of things. Was an absolute tower at the back for us when he played for us.

The cynic in me would almost think FSG are trying to get BR to resign by getting rid of his coaching staff without his approval or backing.

They'll tell us it was a mutual decision, and technically they're right, but it's not like Rodgers wanted to get rid of his staff.

How long has his deal got left? He can't be on that much coin that a payout would hurt. Or is it an image thing? They already look bad enough for sticking with someone they clearly don't trust anymore.

He has until 2018 I think. He signed a 4 year deal last year, so the payout, from my understanding, would be about 10 million pounds. Jack and I have read that the payout was no object to sacking him anyway, nor was the availability of other managers. Who knows what their rationale is...

Yeah payout isn't an issue at all from what we have read. The club needed to 100% back him for cut him loose, not get rid of all his back room staff and basically back into a corner to resign. Apparently the people advising FSG and Michael Gordon gave them some managerial alternatives to Rodgers but they have chosen this path to go down.

IMO they are making a complete mess of the situation.

Surely they advised to look at Klopp, surely?

On top of all that, they reckon signs are increasing that they may appoint a DoF, one of Rodgers' pet dislikes.

Any other club in this situation would have been done with Rodgers. Chelsea would have flicked him 6 months ago.

Don't know if Klopp was mentioned nick but there were options put forward and they've gone this way. All signs look to be going down DoF path. Ed001 mentioned Klopp may have been open to an approach, doesn't mean he would've taken the job but he would've listened.

The fact we didn't move heaven and earth to go for him doesn't inspire me with any confidence going forward. We only needed to look at Man Utd and their approach to Moyes, he got the ass quick smart before anymore damage could be done.

Agree they look going the DoF route like they originally wanted to before Rodgers knocked it on the head.

Lambert's a dunce, he only got signed because he's scouse. I haven't seen enough of Ings to make a sound judgement

Again don't think it's what we should be getting in but hopefully he'll be used better than lambert.

Ings has enough potential to justify a free signing, it's what liverpool do on top of these free signings that will determine their intent next season

Not holding my breath

We've apparently agreed to terms with Adam Bogdan of Bolton to replace Brad Jones as back up keeper. No idea what he's like as I havent watched any Bolton games.
