YOU AM I TO HIT THE EAST COAST FOR SOME SPECIAL SHOWS
You Am I have spent the last year touring the US in support of the US release of "Convicts". 3 tours, 57,000 km’s, 2600 guitar strings, a million dollars in diesel, god knows how many rider sandwiches with watery US beer, lots of old friends, new friends, fans... and 4 tired souls. We're happy to announce, in between various projects... from TR solo (nice record Tim), to drums for Radio Birdman, to guitar for Crowded House, to digging... You Am I will get together, for the first time in Australia in a year and for the foreseeable future to play 4 special shows. To catch up, run some old songs up the flagpole, possibly test some new songs and share some time with the You Am I faithful.

Love ém or hate ém there is no denying their passion.
With most of the bands that were around when they started all but gonski it is no suprise to see the end is nigh.

If they do call it quits I will look back on one of Australia's greatest live bands career with fond memories.

Nah, I'm quite sure that they aren't.

They all have projects keeping them busy for a while, but Tim said that they are making another record.

Great news! about time this joke of a band called it quits.

No international success after being in the game for how long? speaks for itself.

Tim Rogers has more rock n roll spirit in his little toe than those pretenders...

As opposed to glam rock's ability to stay relevant to a new generation.

oh wait...

Yeah a generation of mediocrity which includes Green Day, Blink 182, the Veronicas and Ben Lee:lol:

Chris Franklin even had more success then You Am I:lol:

Talk to me once You Am I it has sold out an US Stadium eg Maddison Square Garden or had albums gone platinum in the US twinkle:lol:

And no playing at the old Australia's Wonderland or Lunar Park doesn't count as a stadium.

But hey they probably won an ARIA:lol:

You know as well as me that Tim Rogers and his band are as boring as bat sh*t and musically as talented as Frankie goes to Hollywood.

There really is more to music then selling records to Americans. You'll learn that one day,

Rubbish, sales are everything. It's a talent to sell a product regardless of what genre, otherwise the kids down the street would be claiming themselves as the best.

If the Beatles didn't sell 150 million albums would they still be regarded as the best band of all time? NO!

80's hair bands were the only genre ever to compete with dance on the charts, how many talented guitarists/musical groups hav number 1 hits these days? none, the market is dominated by 80's remixes and rap. Bands these days can't even write there own songs so they remix it. Hell even 'Is this love' by Whitesnake is now a dance remix.

The US market is everything, the hardest market to crack, if your that good you'll crack that market.

So has Boy George:roll:

Sex Pistols were the best of a poor genre of music, yes.

A great band is a band that play instruments and compete with the likes of Britney etc

Dance is by far and away the most popular music genre, to compete with this you need a massive talent, hair metal did that.

How many competent musicians can compete with rap? none. In the 80's they did! no genre ever has dominated the charts except for hair metal. Ever noticed how even in the 80's even the likes of Cher etc adopted lead guitarists into there songs? or what about good ol Michael Jackson? anyone remember beat it? he incorperated the lead guitar into his songs and if it wasn't for Eddie V that song would not have as big as what it was.

You call that Rock n Roll:lol:

And you wonder why Australian bands get no where, they're the laughing stock of world music.

Atleast many young bands these days are taking the right initatives by moving to the US to learn from the best, not hang our around here with the stupid wannabe beatles look, crappy stratocasters, 3 piece drum sets and a singer that sounds like Richard Simmons loosing his virginity and pretend they're good course they hosted rage once or are in Drum Media, no they go and test themselves in the biggest market there is.

What's that stupid beatles look anyway? lol does he think he's John Lennon or something hahahahahaha....even Yoko Ono has a better look, and she's probably sold more albums as well lol

Why do you need a bunch of Americans to tell you what's good? God knows they aren't the most intelligent or cultured bunch.

Because they're the biggest music industry in the world.

If Australian music was that good people would be coming here to produce music or adopting that stupid beatles look and wearing a blue suit  Rock n' Roll Australian style:lol:
