Dont be too fooled by that win. It was great and not taking that away from them. but similar to the guys in melb. Newcastle got some injuries but were not good and dare I say it at 10-0 the big C word.
Dragons girls still have a lot of work too do.
I actually thought the girls were pretty dominant from almost start to finish. It was just bad execution in attack and then numerous relieving penalties that led to the Knights two tries. As soon as they stopped with the stupid penalties the knights struggled. Our forward pack really brought it to theirs and won. In saying that, I don't think this Knights side is particularly strong this year, especially losing Johnston for the season now.

I still think overall the side is very young and probably another year or so and a couple dominant forwards away from being consistent challengers. Realistically, they may be able to jag another win or two this year but that will probably be it.

You basically echoed what I was saying
Great win but…
A good sign for future anyway

Pretty much yeah.
Only thing I am worried about is the club loses patience with Soward and either sack him or don't renew him past next year. If that happens I think a lot of the girls will leave and put us right back at square one.

So they kind of need to be somewhat successful this year and show continued improvement.

The annoying thing about today. We were all over them first 25 and did not convert enough into points.
2 tries in last 4 mins first half and soft one soon after killed us
I can tell you Sowie gave them a huge spray at half time..biggest of the year
Well..the rest is history

Yeah and I think next week will be even uglier. Sharks will put a score on us.

I just don't see enough strike in the side as a whole to really challenge or ask questions of the defence. The times we do create something, they don't want to pass and try to go it themselves.

That is definitely the most pissed I have seen Sowie in a presser. He was talking about possibly dropping some players but as it always seems to be the case with us, we have no depth after a few injuries.

The side could really do with a few girls similar in build and ability to Amber Hall.

Serious question, did any of you who watched the game think that the jersey the Dragon's NRLW side wore yesterday looked more like a jersey design of the Sydney Swans?

Edit: I'm not asking this to stir, just watching the game yesterday against the Roosters, and then later the NRL match against the Titans, the differences in the jersey design between the men's and women's team was different so that's why I'm asking. If its just me, then obviously I need new glasses.

Good summation
But surely we don’t have to go down the path with the NRLW having girls Amber Halls size to survive in the forwards
Just hit around the lower limbs she is not that mobile and she would be stuffed getting up off the ground all the time
The men tried that when World Championship Wrestling started in Melb and we were vying for unlimited interchange talk

I would think so but history has shown that our womans team really struggle against the bigger bodied woman. More-so than any other type I feel.

There aren't too many players in the side that seem to be able to tackle around the legs effectively, whether that is a technique or a direction problem I don't know. Kasey Reh considering she is a half, I have been impressed with her first contact. She goes low and is usually effective.

We have a smaller more agile pack yet i rarely feel like we win the middle battle in any game. We rely so heavily on Berry to create that if she is shut down we have nothing. I would like to see Sowie try to train the woman to put some late footwork on when hitting the line & also employ an offload heavier game. I think that would be the best way to utilise the skills and types of players we have.

Just to add to my earlier post, this p[hoto show both the men's and women's strip side by side, so this gives you an idea of what I was talking about -

It might be the red shorts the women wear along with teh red of the jersy shoulders that's giving me the false impression.

Sorry for digressing.

Love Teagan but she hogs a bit at the wrong time
Don’t blame her too much as Sowie has given her the licence as she is like the lone star in attack
Our halves need to bring her into the backline creating holes
She will nearly score every time
What I did notice for once she made a good try saving tackle…
knocking the winger into next week over the side line

I thought she was very good for the Dragons on Sunday. Even my team focused on here defensively as they worried about her attacking prowess.
