You think this is real, or is it a work?

f**k yeah.

I am loving the 4th wall being broken and management starting to cop some heat.

Surely if Daniel Bryan hsa been released for real then they wouldn't even mention his name.

They had to say something, since the guy they were pushing was more important to the storyline than the rookie with a title shot. I have a feeling now that he won't be back, no matter the result of Linda McMahon's political career. I expect to see him back in ROH in 90 days.

During last night's WWE live event in Hampton, Virginia, CM Punk took the opportunity to mock the firing of Bryan Danielson before his scheduled match with Kane. After Punk entered the ring, he forced ring announcer Tony Chimel into a corner, grabbed his tie, and threatened him while looking back and forth between the tie and Chimel's face.

Nice one punker.

Punk and Danielson would go way back.

I am guessing the support for Bryan in the locker room would be pretty big. He seemed like a likeable guy.

I agree, Raider.

The weird part is nobody can seemingly say for certain whether it is a work or not. It's about 50-50 - a LOT of people think it's a work, and a LOT are adamant it's not.

When Kennedy was fired, the percentages were more like 80-20 real to work.

RAW today, Barrett said that Bryan showed remorse after what the NXT group did the week before. And because of that he assures us that we will not being seeing Daniel Bryan again.

And Im afraid I think he is right.

I was hoping that
-TheNXT Rookies would go for a full scale take over on all shows.
-Punk wins the belt at Fatal 4 way.
-Danielson goes after Punk.
-Punk vs Danielson at Summerslam.

Knew it would never happen though.

I am thinking that it is a real release but will be rehired once the heat dies down.

Which is absolutely f**king stupidity.

He seems like too much of a professional to have known about no choking but done it anyway.

I'm hearing the same - Vince likes Dragon, but for the sake of his wife's political career he has to play the doting husband role and do right by her. But once she loses (and she will lose), Dragon is back.

with Barrett's promo sh*t canning him and saying they'll never see him again, they've already got a slam dunk return feud for him

Independent wrestling promotions wasted no time welcoming Bryan Danielson back into their community; the released WWE Superstar and NXT 'graduate' has already been booked for two July shows.

Danielson's independent return will take place at EVOLVE Wrestling's July 23 show in Union City, NJ. He will follow that appearance with a booking for Dragon Gate USA at 'The Arena' in Philadelphia, PA on July 24.

Earlier Wednesday, Danielson declined to shed new light on his WWE release but did announce his availability for indy commitments.

- WWE Champion John Cena spoke with Fanhouse.com this week about the release of Daniel Bryan.

Cena said:

"Well, the release is legitimate. It was something that I don't understand. It's something that a lot of people are upset about. This is one of those things where ... you know, WWE is a business, and they chose to make a business decision. I think what is right for the WWE Universe to do is show that they have a bit of power. If they really feel so strongly about this subject -- the consumer has the largest voice here, and if they were really serious they should organize their efforts and put forth some body of work. I've even signed petitions to reinstate Bryan Danielson. But if they can get enough numbers to say, 'Listen, we would like this person back on WWE.' Like I said, they made a business decision, but at the same time, they can't deny good business. So if you get 200,000 consumers saying, 'Listen, we'd like to see this person on television,' I don't think the bean counters are gonna ignore the potential dollar signs. I just think all it takes is, all those people to organize under one roof and say, 'Listen, this is how we want to act,' because the uproar you're talking about, I have no spectrum about how big the size is."

Cena was then asked about WWE having a rule against certain acts of violence, including choking. This was his answer:

"Well you have to understand, our programming across the board is TV-PG content, and anything that falls out of that TV-PG umbrella -- we put a rating at the beginning of the show on our graphic that says TV-PG, so anything that even toes the line to being unacceptable from that, quite frankly needs to be removed from the program -- because we pride ourselves on saying, for so long WWE has had the stigma of, 'Yeah it's fun to watch but I would never let my kid watch it.' Collectively as a body, and as a business, we have taken the initiative to say, 'You know what, I want your children and families to be able to come to our event because I truly believe we have the best value in entertainment. Jeopardizing all of that, it's not worth doing something that falls outside the parentheses of TV-PG. That's something that doesn't fall in our lap, that's something that has to do with the rating system."

I love this NXT invasion but every time they do something I can only think how much better it would be if Danielson was there with them. Surely all the chants for him will wake WWE up, worked for Matt Hardy..

Going by reports he won't be back until Linda McMahon is out of her senate race, best case scenario, late August after the primary, more likely to be November after the actual election.
