It has always been Wests Tigers in 2020 and back to Melbourne in 2021, so that is how it will be at this stage.

What else is he going to say when pressed....What’s the saying “believe half what you see and nothing of what you hear”

He was always going to be used as a link player between Farah and either Liddle coming back or Jake Simpkins. At least we get Momorovski back who will probably be a switched on outside back who can kick goals. If Simpkins can play like Grant then it will be ok anyway.

'Harry is the new favourite': Benji hands over crown as Tiger king
By Christian Nicolussi
July 21, 2020 — 7.40pm

Benji Marshall believes his unofficial title as the Wests Tigers' fan favourite is under threat from Dally M leader Harry Grant.

The rookie sensation rejoined his teammates on Tuesday after a COVID-19 test came back negative following a house move. The 22-year-old will play a huge role for the Tigers when they face Parramatta and fellow young Queensland dummy half Reed Mahoney on Thursday.

Chants of ''Harry'' rang out around Leichhardt Oval last Friday when Grant was given an early mark with the game in the bag against the Broncos. Marshall could not recall a player having such an impact at the club.

"Harry is the new favourite,'' the club veteran said.

"He told me on the weekend, 'because they were chanting my name [at Leichhardt], does that mean I'm the king?'

"He acts quiet and shy but behind the scenes he gives it to us. It was Josh Reynolds who started that chant [Friday night].

"He had a lot of raps coming here, there was a lot of pressure on him to perform coming straight into first grade, but he's delivered.

"We play a style that suits his game, he gets out and runs a bit, he threatens the line - he's been our best player.

"He's grown into the fan favourite. Fans want to see players who actually go out and have a dig, and every game he's making tackles and putting something on in our attack and he does all the little things - if they make a break, he makes the cover tackles.''

Tigers officials have been impressed by how Grant has taken things in his stride.

Moving to Sydney from Melbourne and seeing his profile soar could have presented challenges, but the youngster has not bought into the hype.

After the last round, he was one point clear on the Dally M leaderboard and could become the first rookie since Michael Potter in 1984 to win the prestigious gong.

"He won't say it but he analyses the game really closely, about how he can manipulate the ruck - he's smart in that area and brings a lot to the table when we talk about our game plan,'' Marshall said.

"He's an undercover footy head who pretends he's just this surfy guy.''

The Tigers No.9 jersey was made famous by Robbie Farah who played with a broken leg during his Leichhardt Oval farewell last season. It remains to be seen if Grant will play on next year or return to Melbourne.

Manly legend Steve Menzies gave Grant three Dally M points after the Bulldogs game a few weeks ago and said: "He's quality; his timing, when to run, his toughness ... he's got great awareness and knowledge. He's been super exciting for the Tigers.''

Imagine if we didn’t have Harry this year,I’d dare say we would not be in the position we are now.
As things stand he most likely is off back to Melbourne next season which I can live with,I’d rather he stays but at the same time we were all knew of the trade conditions before the deal went through, I’d rather we honour our side of the bargain than be classed as a deceitful rat like Ivan Cleary, who knows it might even turn out that young Harry stays.

Same here. I want to keep him because he has been great. I also have some confidence in Liddle and maybe even Simpkins.

I'd like to see us though not be dogs ala Parra or Cleary. We will get another hooker.

See I told you, Harry is a supremely confident individual..Everyone is falling under his spell...Sounds like he could be a bossy little shit too which is what’s needed.. He might have been too much for Brookes haha

Hopefully at the storm it wouldn’t be as easy for Grant to have that taking the piss dominant personality off the field as at the w/tigers, with colonel Cam watching..???

You never know. Maybe Brooks isn't dominant enough to get the ball from Harry when he needs it. I don't imagine Benji would have this problem but it's f**king Benji Marshall....he's the Michael Jackson of NRL pre. skin whitening and kid touching

The deal makes no sense for the Tigers, just developing another player for the Storm.
It’ll work out for us, we’ve got a centre coming back who has trained in two great systems. Momirovski will be a revelation next season, he’s doing quite good down there.

That’s not a silly assertion WA. Brooksy no where near assertive enough
