The problem is Soward & Wallace need to be broken up. One is past it and the other it remains to be seen if he can bounce back again. Both will no doubt take their time coming back from injury which will hamper our attack.

Why not give Martin a game in NSW cup as well last week? He got 20 mins fullstop.

Yes I thought he would play more minutes last week in the trial. 20 minutes is not worth by the time he came on.
Its clear Hook is taking things slow with him.

I expect 1-3 out of that, though I wouldn't be surprised with 0-4.

This team is picked asuming Moylen is not playing round 1.

I'm fine with Martin starting in NSW Cup. It's not going to harm him to be there for a year. Maybe the Moylan injury gives DWZ the chance to prove himself at the back. Wallace and Soward a shot with a largely full strength side around them.

I just hope that Griffin is willing to pull the trigger on major changes reasonably early if Wallace/Soward isn't working.

I think Smith played hooker in the Parra trial so would suggest if on the bench it would be for this reason.

Anything can happen in the 1st month of the season as teams blow away the rust.

V Canberra, Target Croker, target Croker, target Croker. Run Cartwright, Blake and Peachey at him all day long. Fensom and Austin haven't played any trials and they will be rusty. Austin has not played a full game with Sezer. It could take time to develop their combination. Better for us. Canberra won only 3 from 12 last at home. They will improve this year but it may take time. Even without Moylan we have a chance.

V Bulldogs. We always seem to do well against the dogs early on in the year as opposed to later on. Knocked them off last year in round 1 and in round 3 in 2014, round 1 in 06, and round 2 in 07. They are unlikely to have Brett Morris. We have a chance.

V Brocs will be tough but at our home ground.

V Dragons will be tough away but if Soward can replicate his 2014 form and maybe Moylan has returned from injury. Add Merrin looking to have a big one against his former club then we have a chance.

I have seen a lot of crazy results over the years happen in the first month of football so us being 4-0 is a chance. (happened in 97) But just remember back in 2003 we were 1-3 after the first 4 and look what happened after that.

Optimism is great, but I honestly think a lot of people are going to be quite disappointed this season... My pessimistic mind won't let me believe we won't have another year of stupid injuries and be fighting off the spoon.

We will be playing the Bulldogs on the back of a 5 day turnaround. I think we're more likely to tire against the Bulldogs than they are against us.

Peach or even Taylor would be far more effective giving Seg a spell if needed. Also Cartwright or Peach are better halves than Smith. Insane to have him on the bench
