Dark horses: Sydney Roosters

Everyone thinks they will drop cause they lost a few players (Pearce, SKD, Guerra, Watson) but they have made a few low-key signings which should net them premiership glory...

Penrith because they wear black and whoever Jimmy Maloney plays for do well in his first season there

Parramatta because, well the NRL will instruct the referees to generate a fairtale. My tip for the top of the "most penalties awarded" list

Pronulla Sharks because, well they're the only other team starting with the letter P

Penrith - Maloney factor. They've been threatening to be a force, but I think he'll be the difference they've needed

Parramatta - Moses with an off-season under his belt will be a huge boost.

Warriors - I was going to say the Knights, but everyone's expecting them to improve.. the Warriors, on the other hand have few genuinely expecting them to break through into the 8, let alone win games in September. There's been some decent signings, time will tell if their talent fades just like the other Warriors signings. The low expectations might just work in their favour.

I'm not sold on this, with Carty at 5/8 they have a decent attacking 5/8 that was a turnstile in defence, Maloney is more of the same and may have the added effect of stifling cleary.

Warriors.

Kearney is such a pussy, i reckon BSmith will be running the joint. Ive always thought he was a perfect fit for the Warriors.

If BSmith does actually get a good rein over the playing group, i think they could do quite well.

Griffin will keep Penrith firmly nowhere

Maloney is all class in attack
However
Geeze he can undo a lot of his good work when it comes to defence.
Penalties galore
Missed tackles galore
Very frustrating to watch.

He’ll put in a great kick that gets the opposition pinned down in their own half.
Then he’ll hold down a bloke on the 5 th tackle and give away a penalty ... more penalties that Gallen at his peak.

This, The Panthers need to get rid of Griffin and quick. He is there biggest stumbling block and cost them Moylan.

Moylan was a myth anyway

Griffin has taken them to the finals in both his seasons there. I dont know what more he can do to prove himself.

Honestly, it sounds like Moylan is just a fairy who has never had a coach be tough with him before...

Half the teams make the finals, not exactly a massive achievement. With the talent at his disposal, he should be taking them further. They weren't a factor at all in the finals and massively inconsistent through the season. I think Moylan has heaps of talent, maybe a little mentally soft but a great coach would be able to work through his issues to get the best out of him.

That's easy, win a premiership and all the Hook Haters (yes, I'm in that camp) wouldn't have anything to complain about... Actually, I'd probably find something, but I'm a prick.
