I have said it a number of times on here. I have been since about 85 or 86 when someone gave me a copy of Ride the Lightening to listen to, as soon as i heard FFWF, trapped under ice and creeping death i was hooked..

Last time they played here in Brisbane i was a little concerned what they would be playing cause i wasn't to sure how good the St Anger stuff would sound on stage.. They opened up with FFWF and the rest of the night was like and old time Metallica concert.. it kicked some serious a*se !!

lol at Jason newstead though Syd

Unfortunately i didn't get to see a lot of Cliff, i am not one of these Metallica fnas who thinks your not a true Metallica fan unless you mention Cliff everytime you talk about them. Jason was in the band for about 14 years of my listening to them so of course i would put him in there. I have no problems with the way he played Bass and he brought a lot of character to the band especially on stage.. Imagine being a huge fan of a band then being able to join them and be as popular as they became..

Half his luck i say...

Yeah the 04 gig was awesome, still did not beat 89 at the hordern for mine but it was close. They opened with Blackened at the syd gig, how awesome that they opened with Fight Fire With Fire at the brisbane gig, im envious.

They didn't play in Brisbane in 89, given i was still at school and living in central queensland, getting to Sydney was next to impossible. I remember seeing it advertised in the Hot Metal magazine i used to buy in those days, (is it still printed??), and tried my best to convince my parents i should go, unluckily for me they didn't really see the appeal in the music i listened to so were not very keen for that to happen.

 Hot metal is long gone, I used to get it myself many moons ago. These days I just try to get a metal hammer every now and then to just keep up with whats happening in metal.

Yeah im sure in 89, metallica only played in sydney and melbourne.

 greatest female singer of all time? She was talented but f**k me she wasn't around long enough to be considered a great.

Olivia Newton John had a voice equal too if not better then Karen.

Deltra has one of the best voices i've heard from a female, she's f**king talented and damn sexy!

Delta Goodrem?

Somebody kill me now.

oh and Karen started to record n 65 and finished in 83 , they made 12 records.

please don't try to talk about subjects you know nothing about Ron.

Big ticks for Freddie there Madunit but Grohl on drums? You seriously believe he is the best drummer the planet has seen do you?

And Novocastrian Panther - Corey Taylor? Slipknot are a disgrace to music!!!

You get a few points back though for Flea - very good bass player.

Carcharias I'm with you. I'm also a fan of Joni Mitchell - some very interesting stuff in her catalogue.

I thought it was 66? legitimately.

12 albums with the most boring songs ever released, hardly great.

Look at her solo career, look at Goodrems.

Subjects i know about bahahahahahaha yeah, just like your knowledge of guitarists and bands outside Australia:lol:
