AC/DC (Bon Scott)

If you were listening to AC/DC in the eighties you were listening to Brian Johnson. Bon died 19th February 1980.

AC/DC, Crowded House, Dire Straits, Def Leppard, Bruce Springsteen, Huey Lewis and the News, Midnight Oil, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, Yngwie Malmsteen, Run DMC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper.....

Knopfler is incredibly underrated imo..Those who doubt me just try playing some Straits or solo material.

The Cure
Joy Division
Talking Heads
Midnight Oil
Crowded House

The only decent things to emerge out of 80's music....

Apart from the Cure and the Oils, i'd hate to be at a party of yours with the likes of Joy Division or Talking heads, they'd think i'm a nice person;-)

Need some stuff people can air guitar to;-)

Hey that Pommy bloke in Beverly, do you still work for him, and how was he like?, just heard a few things about him thats all....

Ill Add Toto, Talking Heads & The Clash To My Favourites as well

Just Recently Bought, The Best of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler: Private Investigations, it is possibly one of the best "Best of" Cd's i have heard, it has all the Greatest Hits, I Thoroughly Enjoy Walk of Life, Money for Nothing, So Far Away, Sultans of Swing (altho that was released in 79) but knopflers guitarist capabilities really come out in the 2nd cd, in the Title, With it mostly him Individual Doing Instrumental, and its truly great to listen to

I rate knopfler as good as Tommy Emmanuel, and that is a big call, to compare any guitarist with tommy

I loved all the so called RNB Brit Bands, Like The Yardbirds, Derek and The Dominos, Cream etc, and Eric Clapton who is one of my favourite solo artists

I really appreciate Solo Guitarists, Tommy, Mark, Eric are probably the top 3 guitarists ive ever heard, that are classical, soft rock

other genres, you would look at Jimi Hendrix, and The Ramones, The Clash, any punk band from the 70,and 80s had pretty good guitarists as well

Too Many To Name
