Grant may be back in time, well some have been saying that at least. I think i would keep reynolds just in case something goes wrong with Farrah. I think they should in all honesty drop Trent Merrin, He's good but at prop he just doesn't have enough go forward. Fifita, Tamou have the size, Gallen is super strong, Merrin although good isn't either. the best 4 props we could go for imo in the current situation is: Gallen, Fifita, Woods, Grant/Mannah. Mannah in if Grant can't make it in time, if he was playing in origin 1, QLD would have completely been rolled. He's like Petro, those bullocking runs of his, no one in the game does it better. Tamou and Fifita are more flash, they have better footwork, skill and speed. Gallen is a bit smaller so his initial impact in the hit isn't as big but hie leg drive in the tackle gets him forward. When Grant comes in, his initial contact is huge and than his drive forward is unmatched. Look back at origin 2 last year and that first run up, not only was him putting petro on his a55 impressive, but what was better was him doing that as well as running into the players he did, it was pretty much the biggest guys in the QLD team - Taylor, Petro, Scott, Thaiday. And than look at origin 3 when inglis was at fullback, he was the guy every time who ran down to stop inglis after he was done bumping off the backs, Grant was honestly hard done by NSW.

I thought Merrin was very good in game 1. Wouldn't drop any players unless we have to.

I don't think no one is pushing for Snowden at all, but doubting his club form was then discussion. No way should Snowden be there. Same team, but Tamou dropped (DUI) for Mannah, J. Reynolds dropped for Woods. We don't need Reynolds for Farah.

If farah goes down, move Pearce to hooker, Maloney HB and then plenty of options for 5/8

Well apparently Laurie has narrowed down Tamou's replacements to Grant, Woods, Tolman and Mason.

He obviously doesn't rate Mannah!

Tamou: 194cm
Grant: 196cm
Woods: 194cm
Mason: 196cm
Tolman: 183cm

Tolman is definitely the odd man out here. I know height isnt a be all and end all metric but if Daley is looking for a replacement for Tamou to fit the team dynamics, the other 3 blokes are a better choice imo

He's honestly good, but just with what happened to Tamou I would be a bit worried about the go forward. We'll be relying to much on Fifita, weather it's a good thing or not, I'm not sure. Had both Tamou and grant been in the team, I'd have Merrin there for sure. I wouldn't have him coming on at prop though, he needs to come in backrow and just be worried about getting away off loads and creating opportunities rather than bashing it up.

Grant doesn't look that tall but that's cause he's got some wide a55 shoulders!

An embarrassment of riches for NSW in the prop department.

When you consider guys like Tim Mannah and even Brent Kite aren't even considered these days, you have amazing options.

What I don't understand is the NSW coach and players talking about not being intimidated anymore but the minute a rookie prop looks the best and fittest option Daley starts talking about the intimidating atmosphere of Lang Park.

Either you pick the best players or just don't bother. Mason & Snowden are not in the same ball park as Woods on form this season as a whole but Daleyu will go with them if Grant is not fit

Laurie on 7 just said these guys are in contention, and I'll list them in the order he said it in case it means anything..

Aaron Woods
Tim Grant
Aiden Tolman
Kade Snowden
Willie Mason

Glad he's noticed Snowden's massive turn around.

Woods was excellent for all of last year and has set the bar even higher this year. He just turned 22 and is the leader of our pack. He ran for 200 metres last week and makes more tackles than any other prop. He looked at home from the moment he played first grade. He won't be overawed. It's farcical if Mason is picked, just farcical.

mm i agree that the excuse of suncorp being too intimidating for Woods is a load of crap. Pick you're best players. No forward or forward pack that I've seen him play against has ever phased him

It should only be a 3 horse race between Grant, Woods and Mannah. I'd personally go with Grant first if he's fully fit just because of how awesome he was in last years series. He played with a lot of enthusiasm and aggression.

Woods over Reynolds would be good, too.
