Fergo was quiet because the game was mostly forward orientated, it almost never got out to the wingers and centers as the second rowers were crashing it up. he was solid on D though. I was happy with Morris as well, besides that one miss on Inglis, he didn't do much else wrong, plus he got a real nice tackle on Boyd when he was going for the line. Really impressed with the side, never really rated Merrin but after tonight I'll go and eat some humble pie. Maloney was outstanding as expected. Hoffman was just average, keep him. Pearce was invisible as always but yeah keep him too. Only change I would consider is Reynolds for someone who can add a bit more punch, eg Time Grant, Jamal idris, Tariq Sims

A man who knows the game. Excellent post.

I thought Hoffman was shit so, assuming Loz is keeping Reynolds in the side, I'd like to see him replaced. Made mistake after a mistake and I didn't see him add all that much that another player couldn't do better

I'd have a forward replacing Reynolds as a lot of others suggested. I reckon we could have really iced that game with another fresh big body coming on in the last 20. Otherwise don't change anything. Ferguson was very solid in a game played through the middle. Did great under the high ball, carried the ball strongly and only made that one error. Pearce hit Lewis short very well all night I thought. He doesn't have to be a magician when the forwards are dominating, just make sure his kicking game is spot on and get our backs into the game. While Maloney is so dangerous running into space created from the big men.

What a ridiculous opening post to this thread. Why would you change anything? Reynolds, perhaps. Anybody else... Nope. Won't happen. Shouldn't happen.

I'd go

1. Hayne
2. Morris
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Ferguson
6. Maloney
7. A. Reynolds
8. Gallen
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Lewis
12. Hoffman
13. Bird
14. J. Reynolds
15. Watmough
16. Merrin
17. Fifita
18. Grant

Depends on how qld go with their bench. If they go all forwards the out grant in but if they have a utility then put j Reynolds.

Drop Pearce.

This. Yet another game where he receives credit for under-performing.

Should have his papers f**king stamped already. Kimmorley was drawn & quartered out of contention & he was five times the halfback our shit-faced little bitch boy Pearce is.

Sick of his dud bullshit, which I endure at both state and club level!!!

Reynolds out and Mateo in. Mateo is in ridiculous form for the Warriors and can play in most positions. Maloney runs well of Mateo's offloads.

Otherwise, I'd keep the same team. Hopefully Gallen isn't suspended.

I hate the Bulldogs and don't particularly like Reynolds.

But it would be a merkin act to pick a guy (especially an ultra competitive type, like Reynolds) for one game, not play him and then drop him for the next game.

Edit - Misread an earlier post.

Not totally against Mateo.

I think he would be handy coming on in the last 10 - 15 mins of each half to get some 2nd phase play going.

There won't be any changes though. Daley has been pretty clear that he wants his players focused on the job and not worrying about the axe.

The OP has Mat Elliot as his avatar. It's clearly Elliot using the anonymity of the internet to push for his team selections.

That's a horrible team Matty, and I've only looked at your wingers.

1 change for me. Grant for Reynolds.

does the op understand anything about the game?

he wants to compromise the left and right side defensive structures with two new wingers?

what did they do to get dropped?

the scrambling defense is what won the game for nsw

Elliot is a QLDer I believe.

I'd suggest that some of the NSW selectors are really QLDers anyway with some of the shit teams theyve pulled out of their arses in recent years.

David Williams
Steve Turner
Anthony Quinn.

Don't change a thing. The quickest way to destroy what has been built in terms of team harmony and playing for each other, is to have players worrying about if they will be there or not.

As an Eels supporter, I have no love for the dogs, but Reynolds is such a competitor, you have to respect the guy. More importantly, I respect him even more now for the way he carried himself after the game. He was happy, congratulated his mates and looked to genuinely be enjoying himself. The maturity of the young man was on display for everyone to see
