Nate Myles has been our best forward so far this year along with Tupou. He's an absolute certainty for QLD, and rightly so.

3. Matt Cooper
4. Mark Gasnier
5. Eric Grothe
6. Braith Anasta
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Willie Mason
9. Robbie Farah
10. Jason Ryles
11. Luke O'Donnell
12. Paul Gallen
13. Greg Bird

14. Mark O'Meley
15. Brent Kite
16. Anthony Tupou
17. Kurt Gidley

QLD:

1. Karmichael Hunt
2. Israel Folau
3. Greg Inglis
4. Justin Hodges
5. Brent Tate (is he injured because no-ones been picking him?)
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Johnathan Thurston
8. Steve Price
9. Cam Smith
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Nate Myles
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Dallas Johnson

14. Ben Hannant
15. David Shillington
16. Mick Crocker
17. Matt Bowen

No room for powderpuff Webb.

Slater is not a centre or a winger, he is a fullback and Hunt is a better Origin-style fullback.
Slater played his first season of RL as a centre lol.

And he's also played origin on the wing.

Has Rogers got a firmer ass or something you queer merkin?

My new NSW side after the Goosters performance last night.

1. Anthony Minichello
2. Jarryd Hayne
3. Chris Lawrence
4. Mark Gasnier
5. Michael Jennings
6. Jarrod Mullen
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Luke Bailey
9. Danny Buderus (c)
10. Mark O'Meley
11. Anthony Laffranchi
12. Nathan Hindmarsh
13. Craig Fitzgibbon

14. Danny Wicks
15. Willie Mason
16. Anthony Tupou
17. Braith Anasta/Greg Bird

O'Meley really didn't do that much imo. Tupou, Mason on the other hand....

Fitzgibbon is probably one of those earmarked for never again.

Are people still serious about Hunt as Qld fullback? the fact that he is the incumbent australian fullback is ridiculous enough. He's the 3rd best fullback at his club, lockyer and hodges are better.

Surely slater has to be picked at Qld fullback.

The thing with Hunt is,he's safe as houses and quite a big boy and for Origin obviously this is paramount.

Though it must be said - Billy Slater should be the Queensland fullback.
Hunt, shouldn't be in the side at all,he's an average player anyway...seriously.

Queensland won last year by grinding out a win, this year it won't cut it and we need some attacking weapons.

Mate he just said what everyone in Australia minus Broncos supporters are thinking. Don't let your team bias influence your decision. Slater might not be as big as Hunt but he's not small at all. He's quicker than him, makes more line breaks on average, has better cover defence, is still fairly safe under the high ball and he's got a good kick chase as evidenced on the weekend. If Hunt gets to be Kangas FB again it's a clear case of the side never being chosen on form.

Nah Hunt won't go near that jersey,Brett Stewart is now the incumbent.
Hunt will most probably still get the Queensland jersey though, considering how good Matty Bowen was playing and still missed it.

NSW pack:

Bailey
Farah
O'Meley
Tupou
Laffranchi
Bird

Kidley
Hoffman
Mason
White

Reserves: Cross, Buderus, Cashmere/Douglas (depends if you want to go for youth or form), Watmough, Gallen, Creagh

QLD Pack:

Price
Smith
Civoniceva
Webb
Crocker
Johnson

Cronk
Lillyman
Myles
Hannant

Reserves: Kaufusi, Payne, Shillington, Thaiday, Parker, Costigan

Possible NSW squad bolters may be Heighington or Sims, for QLD Taylor may get in the mix. Guys like Carroll, Stagg, Harrison, Simpson, O'Donnell, Fitzgibbon, Hindmarsh, Ryan need to be moved away from now, all are solid workers but IMO they just aren't the uptempo sort of players for the Origin arena anymore.

So how did my bias for the Broncos lead me to pick Slater at FB in my QLD team earlier in this thread?

Read my post this time, then you might realise that I was merely laughing at goose's ridiculous claim that Hunt isn't even Brisbane's best #1.

Seriously - Bailey's out of origin with a broken arm. NSW will be struggling for descent props. O'Meley's a has-been. Kite's mediocre at best. Ryles is a plus for Queensland.

Cashmere's a smokey.

Jennings and Pearce are playing well..you can't deny that.

I put Fitzy in there because he's been there loads of times and is playing pretty good footy atm.

And I put Wicks in there because NSW is short on props.

My prediction is that Pearce plays game 3. He'll be there next year for sure though.

Anasta is a certainty for 5/8.

Mate, I cannot say that Jennings is playing better than Cooper, Pommeroy or Robertson (Stewart could also play on the wing) and Pearce is behind Wallace and Soward IMO.

Fitzy has retired form rep footy and is below Gallen, Minichello and Hoffman.

Wicks is struggling to do good minutes for the Knights week in week out and would not cope with Origin footy at this stage. White and Cross will get a nod.

I'm not a NSW fan but even I can see you're over reaching a bit

Where would Jennings fit into the NSW backline? Gasnier, Cooper, Lyon (as much as he is over rated, the selectors seem to love him), Hayne, Mini (NSW best in game one last year. His reading of the game was superb), Stewart, Gidley

Why would they pick Wicks??? What in heavens name has he done to get selected?
