We need to persevere with Feeney at FB, I reckon he should be given at least the first 8 weeks to show what he's got and I think we'll know by then if he's the right fit at FB. It's a bit of a knee jerk reaction to drop him after a bad game when there were so many factors working against him, inexperience, shit team playing around him, torrential rain etc.

I think the way he plays next week against Souths is much more important than how he played yesterday because it'll tell us if he has learnt from his mistakes and worked on the weak areas at training. I don't expect perfection from this kid any time soon, I just want to see progress this season and hopefully by the end of the year we see him as our long term FB option.

For the record:

Feeney
Mamo
P. Mata'utia
Gagai
Uate
Mullen
Hodgkinson
Paea
Randell
Sims
J. Saifiti
Rochow
Smith

Stockwell
D. Saifiti
Pauli
Bhana

I've included Paea in Snowden's starting spot and Stockwell onto the bench (Snowden to NSW Cup) because he couldn't possibly be worse than Snowden and we will need a really big bench to try and counter Souffs forward pack. I've included Mamo on the wing for Chanel because Chanel didn't really get involved last night, can't remember him doing anything at all. At least Mamo will have a go and be involved in the game.

Other than that the rest of the team remains the same, a few guys definitely need to lift their game though, Mullen, Hodko and Gags really need to go up a couple of notches from what they dished up vs Titans.

I wouldnt drop Snowden just yet. Drop him to the bench, see how he reacts, if he doesnt improve then drop him.

Brown dropped sims to the bench because of poor trial form and look how that worked out for him.

In saying that, I wouldnt drop anyone to a lower grade after one performance.

It's round 1, lets see how they bounce back against souths.

When Brown starts putting Gagai and the like in NSW Cup if we are not improved in the next few weeks the real heart or lack of it in this squad should start to show.

Our starting front rowers were probably the two weakest of the five. One/both to the bench, no other changes,

Yeah, exactly. The cream will rise to the top. The lazy ones will be the ones who bitch and moan behind browns back about it, these guys will eventually be pushed out of the club.

We have all been calling for cultural change for 10 years, its beginning to happen now. It doesnt matter that brown isnt the best coach, he is bringing what has been needed here for a long time and actually has the balls to do it.

Brown can have as long as he wants to get things right as far as im concerned.

While I will never boast or applaud a player's injury as it is callous, we have been given a decent leg up this week with no Sutton or Reynolds.

The coach is in a situation where he can't simply drop players, especially inexperienced players as it will knock their confidence/development.

I'd drop Snowden to the bench if I was Brown as he seriously needs a rocket. Last year, as far as I am aware, he was coming off contract and I have never seen him start a year so trim. This yar he was fat, slow and full of penalties. He handled the first 3 or for minutes of the game well, buit after that he was a massive liability.

Korbin Sims will win the knights player of the year this season. He is in for another big year.

What happened to Stockwell? Is he a chance of playing this week. He's another player I have a HUGE wrap on.

I don't think Feeney has the size or experience to play fullback in first grade. I'd be putting Mamo or Gagai there, but that will effect the team when it comes to centres and wingers.

Mullen was courageous in defense last night and it appeared that he gave it his all. His one on one defense where he charged out of the line would have made Ben Kennedy or Paul Harragon proud.

I was very impressed with Randell. Watching him attack by running out of dummy half gave the team attacking option which was pleasing.

Also I was happy with Pat's defense at centre. He frequently made the correct decision as opposed to Uate and Gagai on the other side.

Feeney just needs some confidence. He will be an attacking assett in the future.

And that is the key with giving him time...not to show his attacking prowess because we all know he has that in him but to give him time to learn the reading, positional and defensive aspects of how to play at full back - that is the patience, we as fans need to have with his development.

And again, that seems to be the beauty of Brown - he is telling these kids that effort, second effort, commitment and enthusiasm as well as learning each week is what will guarantee you a spot in his team...and if they bring that to the table, regardless of where we finish this season, I think we will all be happy to look back on this season as a significant turning point in this clubs history.

I really liked what he said in the press conference about teaching these kids about the consequences of errors and dumb penalties - it wasn't about punishing errant behaviour, it really came across about teaching players how to fix aspects of their game for the better individually but also as a team about how to play a smart competitive brand of football

Don't know how he went on the whole because I didn't get to watch the game, so I'll take your word that he had a decent defensive game but I thought the overlap try in the second half scored by Don I saw on the highlights was a poor read by Pat...admittedly they may not have stopped the try but the defence was sliding and I think Mullen had Bird covered when Pat went up and in which left 3 on 2 outside.

Having said that, the shot he put on Bird was a solid hit and in comparison the bomb defence by Uate and Gaigai (in particular) was very ordinary on the Titans first try, so he's not alone in letting them in
