Mamo 177cm 88kg
Feeney 189cm 91kg

Snowden 21 minutes, 5 runs for 25 metres, 3 penalties, 1 error. Can't see Brown letting him start next week.

Cheers for the Mamo, Feeney stats. I thought Feeney was a bit of a beam poll and that confirms it. I'd much prefer a shorter player with bulk at fullback than a player who isn't strong and big enough to make a simple one on one tackle or who can poke his nose through the line. I'm 188cm and 86kg and there is no way that my size is big enough to handle the NRL. The days of Brett Mullens carving up at fullback at his size are over.

Feeney is as good if not better than Mamo in defence. He also linked up better with our outside backs in the sweep plays in his first real game as fullback than Mamo has in his 2 years of playing fullback. The only real advantage Mamo has at the moment is defensive positioning (something Feeney definitely needs to work on).

I'd stick with Feeney. Hopefully better conditions and an improved team performance will see him involved in better attacking movements and give him some confidence. Brown has said repeatedly the poor bloke will take a while to learn the position.

Do they? Slater and Thurston would disagree

Also, it looks like Chanel picked up a knee injury and will be out next week. Mamo too

Sione straight in on the wing I guess

I noticed Chanel wincing with his leg caught in a tackle then limping afterwards about 20mins into the game. He did well to push through and not be a liability.

And Joey, Wally Lewis, Brad Fittler, Trent Barrett, Greg Inglis , Josh Dugan... would agree.

There is certainly room for sublimely skilled or extremely quick smaller players. Are we seriously suggesting anyone on our roster is either of those things?

Probably not

Still doesn't make what CH said any less true. When it comes to halves or fullbacks, size alone means SFA. They can get away with lack of size but they cannot get away with lack of skill

I can't believe there are people here wanting to drop Feeney after one game, there's no point in selecting him in the first place if he gets only one game to prove himself. We're not making the 8 this year, that's a fact. So we might as well get as many young guys blooded and get our key positions in order and have a crack at the 8 next year. Dropping Feeney is the last thing we should do at this stage of the year IMO.

When it comes to ANY position, size alone means sweet FA...

x2

He wasn't even that bad. In fact, at times he showed some really great signs.
Give him 50% of 2016 to improve and adapt to the position.

With Pauli also likely to go for the grade 1 (can't find whether he has already taken the plea?) do we know who is right and available to play this week out of Paea, Stockwell, Fitzgibbon, Yates, etc.?

This club is hard to support some times.

What genius decided that risking 38 demerit points wasn't worth the shot at getting off?

Mind boggling. One of our best forward last week and they do jack. Makes you scratch your head. Is Stockwell available? Paea? Don't want to be nervous about clubs mentality this year. But this didn't help.
