Which players has your club purchased that has had a fair bit of expectation but for some reason or another theyve just failed to live up to that expectation?
Does your team regularly get duds from a certain other club?

Nick Graham- 9 1st grade games over 2 years, no injuries.

Matt Reick - 6 games over 1 year...goooorne.

Tim McGann- Rugby union- 0 games in 1sts

Mark Meredith- Come back from knee recon, also had heart ailment I think, 0 1st grade games in one year, showed touches of class in reggies but ???

Ben Reynolds,- a handful of games, signed the year Prince arrrived and just after Benji emerged on the scene, been hit with injury after injury, unluckiest player runnin around.

Ronald Prince and Luke Branighan, PL only.

Matt Jobson, a handfull of games...never really kicked on though looked promising occasionally.

Brad Drew - showed flashes of brilliance in first grade but was poor overall, finishing his Raiders career in reserve grade

Adam Mogg - started well but over the last two years has shown absolutely nothing of the player he can be. Disappointing.

Matt Rua - quit for "personal reasons" before ever donning the lime-green

Tyran Smith - enough said

It's hard to make this sort of list for the Raiders, because most signings we make are younger players who don't have all that much expectation placed on them... the Raiders are very active in Premier League recruitment and sign one or two fringe first graders to go with them - way it's always been. The exception is when we seemed to raid the Parramatta stocks a few years back and picked up Schifcofske, Mogg, Hindmarsh, Drew, Hodgson over a couple of seasons.

I'm pretty sure Drew played in the 2004 quarter final, he didn't finish in reserve grade.

Adam Dykes from the Eels, no need to mention any other names. One of the worst buys in history, Fitzy paid alot of money for that nuffy.

Big shame. Showed a lot of promise in the lower grades but injury has really hampered his progress.

I think we could add owen craigie to that list

and Matt Nightingale - remember the hype on him before people saw him play and realised how useless he was?

M Gids has been a dud for a few years now. from worlds best centre to being outplayed by George Carmont....

can he justify his paypacket this year by making a linebreak?

Joel Monaghan- one of the leading tryscorers in 04 turns into the slowest moving thing since that iceburg that sunk the titanic

Brett Finch- Quite possibly the most single dimensional play maker in the game. Nothing without a great 5/8. Lets hope Anasta doesnt carry him too much this year or Easts might actually choose him over Soward or Lewis.

nah we signed him from penrith

everyone was talking about this giant prop we'd signed from penrith and what an awesome player he was supposed to be.

He must have gone back to Penrith then because having a look that was where we got him from as well. Who knows. All I know is he never played for us outside of a trial somewhere..... then he retired.

Colin Best, he may have scored 20 tries ( which is pretty easy playing outside Gaz ) but he let 25 in down his wing. My 7yo has better tackle on his fishing rod. He put some amazing hits on thin-air all year.
