MCK got mucked around a bit early in his career getting moved to center. In the 20s he was a gun back rower. He also looks like he prefers the 80mins as opposed to being an impact player like Aloiai. Seems to be very well liked an popular amongst team mates which is always a good sign. Great to see him finally fulfilling his potential.

I think he is now a proven quality first grader. He has to keep it up but our edge backrowers now look a lot stronger. Lawrence, ET, MCK and Garner aren't as good as some teams but it's not bad.

The issue is that Packer especially looks pretty ordinary. Sue is required at this point because Packer especially isn't getting the job done. Matulino though has been improving a lot.

We're splitting hairs here

Brooks is by far the most improved. Not gonna lie, I thought he'd be better this year but not this good. Might win Dally M even

Marsters has been a gun all year and probably only played a couple of bad ones, made NZ test team and looks likely to stay

Thompson may not have the skill of other wingers but makes up for it in effort areas and heart

Benji is hot and cold but hes been extremely positive for us, and I reckon without him Brooks wouldn't be playing the way he is

Chee Kam is finally showing his potential, albeit his defense still needs work

I also think Mats is starting to come to his own, hes been really good the last few weeks

Agree with most if not all but i would add that Thompson has more skill than he's generally given credit for .....I think he's been pigeonholed as a journeyman utility ....he's the real deal in any company IMO

With 1 round to go I do not think my ratings will change, so.

My 3, 2 & 1

3. Brooks - whilst still a work (long work) in progress, I think he was without doubt the Tigers best this year.
2. Lawrence - inspirational leader puts body on the line every game, unfortunately, putting his body on the line hasn't aided him in playing more games.
1. Thompson - like Lawrence, puts body on the line every game. Plays well above his height and size.

Most Improved: Based on previous years efforts - Brooks & Naiqama (come on guys, think about it)
Rookie of the Year - n/a
Thanks for coming, see ya later - Grant & MWZ, Say hi to Gus.
Much Maligned - Farah, Tui, Naigama & Packer

3. Lawrence - gave 110% every game and made significant impact
2. Marsters - was pretty much our only player that could create something out of nothing
1. Brooks - without him we would have finished in bottom 4

Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks has tonight been awarded the Kelly-Barnes Award for the 2018 Wests Tigers NRL Player of the Year.

Brooks was presented with the prestigious honour at the club's annual Presentation Night this evening, which was held in front of more than 500 guests at Curzon Hall.

The 23-year-old was also voted by his teammates as the NRL Players' Player of the Year in what has been his finest season since winning the Dally M Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Easily our best player this season. One of the few classy non plodders in our team. Brooks & Mbye are the guys we can build around. I hope Liddle goes to that level as well.

Im far from satisfied with Luke's year. He has shown more glimpses of great play than other years but still so far to go its silly. Best of a bad group this year...congrats I suppose.

Best 3 for me:

1. Thompson (still feel like tigers were at their best when he is fullback)
2. Lawrence played one of his best years looked at his fittest in awhile the pre season must have been one of our best in awhile need to do the same next season.
3. Probably a mixed bag between Brooks, Marsters and Sue. These 3 were more consistent but still had the odd poor game but mainly due to our forwards getting dominated in the second half of the year.

Also Benji was never going to be the player his was at his age but he was on peanuts this year and played nearly every game and managed games well. Yes he had poor options as he always has but I think after getting thrown in round 1 couldn't ask for much more.

Farah is similar to Benji but I thought the whole culture change thing was happening then things seemed to go back once Farah came back thought the club had moved on. His experience is all we need more than him overplaying his hand.
