I fyou check out the Titans v Eels game in the semi finals last year. Mateo runs to the line, dummies and basically falls over the line.
I remember thinking. Why dont we see him do this all the time ? he is so big and skillful he SHOULD be almost unstoppable near the line.
Alas we only see glimpses of Mateos form every once in a while. Certainly not enough to justify his selection every week in a professional NRL side. He may go to the warriors and he may play a brilliant game or two - but that will be it.
he is just too damn lazy to play with any consistancy.
Punt him and buy a player who wants to play.

Maybe Brian Smith was right after all.

Mateo will come good, as with the rest of the side

I have absolute faith we will turn it around over the next 2-4 weeks

no dramas at all

I agree lets keep the faith and stop bagging our players, thank god the game wasn't played at parra..... can you imagine the boo's for our team:crazy:

Mateo has been average so far.You should not make him a large offer but instead punish him by sending him to penrith straight away .

i'll go in to bat for feleti

I thought he got dudded 3 times in the first half with supposed lost balls/knock ons .... he got stripped twice (one by barrett was so f**king obvious, I am astounded 2 refs and 2 touch judges didn't notice - must have been raining heavier than it seemed, referees vision was poor) ... i don't think those dud calls helped his confidence today .... yeah he should have the balls to lift above it, but fmd, our entire team seems to be on valium today - someone needs to find the happy pills instead

feleti is still running to the line and looking to offload - we aren't exactly supporting him well this year - cos we are playing lazy as a team .... i can't believet he number of times i've thought, why the f**k wasn't anyone running off him

he's basically the same as our entire team - just not switched on atm .... I don't know if his contract situation is causing him issues? ... I remember in 2002 we all thought we'd kill it after 2001, but half the team was off contract and worrying more about their future instead of playing well .... I had a bad feeling before this year that there might be a bit of deja vu

Love him or hate him, Brian Smith knows how to spot a footballer.

LOL.. i recon Hayne wouldn't have played 1st grade yet had BS been our coach.

Lets not get too carried away with early season form. We'll still finish in front of the roosters.

Hayne would have played FG but probably not as early as Smithy wanted.
In hindsight even Hayne woul dhave said that he wasnt ready...

So we would have missed two slightly above average half-seasons (just in time for contract extensions) and saved ourselves two massive contract upgrades.

I reckon we'd be better off.

Mate, just for getting us to the 2009 GF, they should build a statue of him next to Price. I would also give him you're gate takings for kebabs on the way home.

He reminds me of the guys that I had to continually fight at school because they called me a Mediterranean Descendant merkin.
