I think Flanno has got this one right. Zac is in career best form, and I for one am giving 99% of the credit to the coach for this. No other coach has managed to unlock his talent prior to this. And I'm thinking tough love had a lot to do with it. Maybe tough love that someone resented hearing. If boxing is any part of the reason Zac wants to leave, perhaps they could put him in the ring with a Tszyu brother to help him understand he is not, and never will be, a fighter.
I suspect however it's a much larger issue that none of us have any idea about. When was the last time a bloke wanted out of a club to take 200k less money while in the best form of his career? There's got to be a reason.
So, if Zac wants to leave the coach who is the major reason for the superb form he is in, then unfortunately Zac cannot see reason. And to leave for the sh$tstorm that is going to be Parramatta over the next few years is crazy. If you go into their forums at the moment, they sound like we all did during the McGregor & Griffin eras.
Anyway if Flanno has decided he's happy for Zac to go - and he will for sure know all of the reasons - then I'm going to trust the coach on this one, and that's coming from someone who has been one of Zac's biggest defenders here over the last few years.
