Whats the difference between playing wing or centre? I mean, our most potent attacking WEAPON is Ravalawa and he plays wing.
JAC plays wing. DWZ, Cobbo, To'o, Dom Young, Isaako.
Lomax would be lucky to have his name in company of these blokes.
Seriously, whats wrong with being a winger!?
Wingers are the best, score the most tries, score spectacular tries, can catch bombs with the best of them, take hit ups like forwards, they do everything, they are involved in every set basically.

The negative is I dont think Lomax is going to be getting any diving 1-handed cartwheel putdowns.. but its pretty rare we actually put on a backline movement anyway.. we generally try to run over or thru the defence... very rare we go around a team.

Defensively too... if we declared that underspec vegas stadium as our home-ground, I think we would be unbeatable.

Yep, I reckon wing is a more important role than centre. And I’d hazard a guess that wingers are paid as much if not more than centres these days.

I think it depends on the player. Latrell was a good centre, attracted a lot of defence.

I think zac will play different positions this year. Injuries, suspensions…wherever he’s needed.

He doesn’t mind one bit, that’s such a strong suit.

It was said earlier, if Flanno wants you, you aren’t going anywhere.

Lomax is a weapon. He competes on everything (when not playing for Hook), is equally good defensively as offensively, and although not quick off the mark, he has decent speed for an outside back. The only issue is that he sometimes thinks too much and can get a bit frustrated/agro giving away penalties. With success and a good coach he listens too he will have his best year to date. (He just needs to listen too, and trust `Flanno)

Rothfield is definitely Mr Reliable. He wrote last season that Sullivan will be lacing his boots in Belmore in 2024. He was so sure of it. I thought he was only on NRL360 as the comedy act so they can pick on him and hear what rubbish he has to say to make us laugh.

Lomax loves the red V. I cannot see him leaving the Dragons before his contract is up. Saints signed him long term because they knew how good he will be and I am sure that will also show Zac how much they value him. If anything I think Flanno rates him more than any of the backs and is helping him reach his potential with the positional changes.

Haha! Phroth is Mr Predictable and is a rumour mongerer and has so many stabs at who is doing what, going where and what was said etc. A lot of these journos like to start rumours to make it look that they are in the know when most of the time they are just guessing. Sullivan going to the Dogs - he sure is alright and they are known as the Tigers.

Lomax is going to be big this year under Flanno. He competes and does everything 100%. His serious approach can be seen by his stern look on his face. He wants success like Hunt and all of the other Dragons. It is a lot different for all of the guys this year. They see a much better season all round which gees them up.

Zac is an OK NRL standard player. Now in his 6th season of NRL he won’t be any more or less than what he has already shown. I have never called him ‘Slomax’ or ‘bog slow’ just pointed out that he is comparatively slow for a back. He won’t intercept and run 70 to 80 metres. That lack of zip means he doesnt reach the level of Best, Mitchell, Staggs, to name just a few.

Generally a good goal kicker; on occasion a very good goal kicker. That is a big plus. Every team needs a player(s) who can consistently bang over goals from all angles. He is fit and competes hard.

I hope he has his best season this year.

He competes on every play as you say and if he was at fullback whoever was running at him if he doesn't run around him he will get smashed by Zac ...... Not as fast as Sloan , but Sloan does bugger all in defense , so would I try Zac at fullback 100% ........ The guys big fit and strong for me Id even try him at 5/8 , but that's another story and can't see that happening ........

We don’t have many scintillating players, like Mitchell, Walsh, Papenhausen, however I think we can do OK with solid players, so long as we are consistent

To me I believe we lost a lot of games with (what another poster described as dumb players) outside backs fumbling and bumbling, knock ons, dropped kicks coupled with poor defensive reads. Notaddressing this contributed to the loss of a lot of tight games. If Lomax kick consistently can defuse kicks, defend adequately bring the ball back hard be in position to receive passes and or attacking kicks, it just might be all we need

There has always been this thought that he would end up at the Roosters. This is because Freddy called him the "gifted one" and Buzz added 1 & 1 and got 3. Lomax loves the Dragons, is signed for a few more years and is not peeved he has been moved to the wing. Flanno is no idiot and he would have communicated the exact reason why Lomax would play wing and probably that it is a temporary thing to help the club so we have 2 fullbacks.

Zac was awesome at fullback in the second half against the Raiders in 2023. This is against a raiders team who have a very quick backline. Zac is quicker than he has shown in the centres as the service he received meant he was starting from a standing start. In the raiders game he did a lot of open field running and he can definitely motor
