I am just a RL fan,& involved at junior level (coaching).
From un10 onwards ,you find out which kid/s have the vision/playmaking ability,& even a kicking game.
They will be the teams playmakers/halves or as long as they stay with the club.

How can LD be totally blind to the fact that Pearce has not got any of these .
How can he back a man who after his forwards do the tough stuff & get within QLDs 20 meekly turn the ball over ,no repeat sets ,no pressure.
The mind boggles.
How can a man ignore other players (Carney Reynolds ,mullen) who possess these abilities ?

I admired LD when he played ,but seriously he has NFI about coaching.
Pearce is a poor mans Brett Funch.

It will take time for sure. Still a young guy. He is only 21 or 22 I believe and props are the slow burners in most circumstances.

Pearce should definitely go. It won’t help though we just don’t have the halves that QLD do.

There were other mistakes made in that game as well. Farah full on dogged it for QLDs 1st try, it was abysmal defence.

How much say does Fulton actually have in selections and has he gone under the radar for 8 years?
Him and Daley selected this side, him and Loz have had major input the last 8 series. If they continue to pick spastics who should not be there QLD will continue to win.

It’s a good point. He deserves criticism for last night and will most likely not be picked next year. There have been other games where NSW has been completely dominated and he has still copped it.

It goes deeper than Pearce though, since Johns and Fittler every single half to play for NSW has unfairly copped it. Reynolds will get his chance next year and will be crucified when he loses a match.

Insert Reynolds and Carney and there is a much, much bigger chance we win that game. Takes pressure of Farah as well.

We dominated possession, field possession and penalties and won the pigs battle once watmough and fiffta got on. It simply comes down to the 7 simply put someone tell me what carney did wrong last year.

Bozo has copped shit from this forum as I think he's the common denominator from the past 8 years but the press never seem to say a bad word about him

NSW started changing their systems a few years ago but if you keep selecting morons you'll get the same results

Pearce is a back rower trapped in a half backs body.

Limited vision, limited kicking game but reasonable hands and a reasonable running game.

Unfortunately when your best attributes only stack up as reasonable, you are destined to be crucified at Origin level.

Last night he looked a good two or three seconds slower in his execution than what he needed to be. This is why most of his kicks were charged down and those he passed the ball to generally ended up in hospital.

NSW have a huge list of quality front rowers (either already quality or definitely will be in the coming years):

James Tamou, Aaron Woods, Andrew Fifita, Trent Merrin, Tim Grant, Jack Stockwell, David Klemmer, Jack De Belin, Kane Evans

We literally have props coming out of our ears.

In fact, we have great options coming through in every position in the forward pack .. prop, back row, hooker ..

As far as halves go, our options for the future are most likely out of these four guys:
5/8th: Kyle Stanley, Dylan Walker
Half: Adam Reynolds, Luke Brooks

Even then, Stanley will need to get over his knee problems and play regular football for at least 18 months before coming into consideration.

Every other selector had the dignity to stand down.

Not Fulton though.

What an epic f**king merkin

Ah , Todd Carney ?

He still has quite a few years of football left.

The crazy thing is , if we'd just snuck home last night we'd be doomed with Pearce for another few years at least.

Let's say Maloney kicks the conversion and Farrah pots a field goal.

That's enough to keep this no talent arse clown in the team for another 2 to 3 years IMO.

Maloney is a club 5/8 and nothing more.

The replacement of Carney with him and woods being picked in front of grant were almost as big a failures as selecting Pearce.

Carney is a class 5/8 , who clearly has more skills than any other 6 in NSW.

This whole combinations bullsh*t has got to go.

Look at Queensland Cronk had shocker game 1 put cherry Evans on bench why did we not do this to put pressure on the untouchable Pearce.
