Do you know any volunteers in local footy that you think deserve recognition?

G'day all, I'm working with a newish Rugby League mag called Totally Rugby League. Each month we do a full-page 'Volunteer of the Month' article and I'm just looking for nominations. So if there's a volunteer at your local footy club who you think deserves some recognition, preferably at a...

    Crowd

Maybe if the club tried a bit harder to identify themselves with the area people would get more passionate about it... playing in the Red V at WIN Stadium is a f**king joke for starters... .. and if i hear another commentator refer to the team simply as 'St George' i am going to cut sick haha...

and i don't know who rides the back of that Dragon but it sure as f**k ain't a local st. george junior :D It's just a bit of fun, mate... The rule is going to be, until they stop chanting 'St. George!' on the hill at Wollongong, i'm gonna keep bringing the banner haha

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

That's fine.. i'm happy for him to sit out a week for putting his hands in a dangerous position... but for the game (fans and administrators) needs to be careful that they don't accidentally give off a "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT" kinda vibe.

Here we go... i stuffed up in ordering the banner a bit coz i didn't leave enough space on the ends for the poles, but it still looks okay.

It wasn't just McLean's lift, though... It was McLean's lift + the other Melbourne player's landing on top of him + where McKinnon put his head. Take out any one of those three contributing factors and we're not having this discussion right now. I just can't agree with ya..

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

So you're happy to have Jordan McLean cop the blame for this kid never playing the game again, potentially never walking again etc?

well whatever... i understand what you're all saying.... i guess i just feel for the kid and don't want the whole world to make it feel like it was all his fault.

    Mitchell Pearce

Doesn't Mitch Pearce hold the record over the last 12 months for forcing the most repeat sets in the NRL? He might not have delivered at SOO level yet, but i believe it's only a matter of time, and to drop him now AFTER he wins his maiden Grand Final would be a silly thing to do imo

Yes but i wasn't reply to THAT post.. it was your previous post that was silly. anyway, like i just said.. i'm not looking for an argument... i'm sure at the end of the day we're all on the same page.

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

Whether this previous poster meant it or not, that's what his post was implying... he said that by definition it was not an accident because McLean grabbed him between the legs. anyway i'm not looking for an argument... i'm sure we're all on the same boat. If a law of the game was broken then...

Okay... sorry for being condescending... but to suggest that Alex McKinnon's double neck break is anything but an accident is just silly.

    Queensland having a cry

The Keary thing is nothing like the Inglis thing. Inglis was born and bred in NSW and spent most of his childhood supporting the Blues, but he chose to play for QLD, which is obviously shit and shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Keary was born and bred in QLD, spent his childhood...

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

If Alex hadn't have tucked his head under his body to try and propel himself to the ground and complete the tackle it wouldn't have happened... there was a number of contributing factors, but in no way was one man's actions wholly responsible for that outcome. It was a freakish, unfortunate...

The Game Jerseys, Logos, Mock Ups, Photos ANYTHING

yeah i made it my avatar after i made that post... i've got a big vinyl banner made up to bring to WIN Stadium. I don't hate the joint venture by any stretch, but the old St George fans need to show more respect when they come down to Wollongong... the chant of 'St George' on the hill at WIN...

I noticed that Budsy was referring to him in past tense, too, but players talk about Buderus as being one of the most genuine blokes to ever play the game so i imagine that he'd probably feel sick if he watched it back. He was clearly very emotional about it all.

    Mitchell Pearce

Pearce was picked for Origin when he was too young and too many people touted him as our saviour... he's still only 24 and i think he's got plenty of improvement in him. I would be disappointed is NSW's #7 was anybody but Pearce this year, but i do think that Carney should be at #6, and i...
