Gotta say, the subcontinent is one place BazBall could really pay off in Test cricket. Decks are often pretty flat for the first two days before they die in the arse, so you can really get a long way ahead of the game if you're 3/330 by tea on day one lol.

Of course it probably all falls over when the BCCI roll out a sandpit in Pune that has f**ken loose gravel on it day one, but even then, having a crack is just as likely to work as waiting for one to go under your bat and bowl you.

Wow....

Are England trying to break the record for most runs scored by a team in a day of test cricket or what? What's the deal with scoring at 6.39 runs/over after 66 overs?

IIRC, 509 runs is the most a test team has scored in a day (Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in 2002).

England are on target to eclipse that.

Don't know if those 24 overs will be bowled, as whoever was responsible for organizing this test stupidly chose to schedule stumps (5pm) around the time sunset occurs in Rawalpindi.

The test should've started 30-60 minutes earlier in order to avoid the 'bad light' situation which inevitably means getting 90 overs bowled in a day is nearly impossible.

With another hour of play to go before stumps, it's already starting to look dark and murky over there.
