Well an Englishman won it....in a game where the best two players were English. So Aussie bias if it does exist isn’t impossible to overcome. I don’t think there are any obvious kiwis who missed out. Foran was probably better than DCE in ‘13 but Maloney probably should have won it.And heaven forbid if a kiwi won it...
Haha so there was a conspiracy lolIt think that's the general concensus . . . probably influenced by people wanting Slater to go around again
Not so much a conspiracy, more an outpouringHaha so there was a conspiracy lol
Debatable, this greatest off all time thing is a pretty overrated statement. Unless you've watched every single fullback since 1908 how would you know who is officially the best. Slater is one of the all time greats but it would be interesting how he shapes up against Clive Churchill who changed the way fullbacks play and did some things Slater won't achieve.
If Keith couldn't kick he'd never get a run in a first grade side, neither would've Jason Taylor come to think of it . . . didn't know Billy kicked field goalsWould Slater even kick 50 meter goals with a heavy leather ball also like Keith Barnes did?
It's always good for a debate
Where is the list of things Churchill did that Slater couldn't . . . I watched Clive play but can't rememberAgreed. Even considering factors like the professionalism of the game and the effects it's had over the years. Would Slater still be as good as he is if he had to work for a living instead of train 5 times a week? Would Churchill be better as a professional? Or would opposition teams have been harder to play against with more training and structures?
"The greatest ever" is good far a debate and that is it.
Catch the ball without kicking people in the head.Where is the list of things Churchill did that Slater couldn't . . . I watched Clive play but can't remember
You know what. Your spot on , their shouldn't be a comparison because u can't compare different eras but the media try their best to do it which in turn sucks us fans into doing it too.Agreed. You don't know Clive like I doCatch the ball without kicking people in the head.
Clive was also able to resist kicking prone players in the head.
Churchill was also able to do good deeds without telling the world how giving he was.
Unfortunately he was poor at lairing about and self promoting himself as a hero.
Clive was also not a merkin.
You seem to know a lot about Clive little man. Taumalolo will have scored more tries and anyone who tried would kick more goals in the same time span Clive played for Souths and he scored only 20 points in 37 outings for AustraliaView attachment 15842
This is what clive thinks of you.

Then again he played in unlimited tackles when players were allowed to punch on and play dirty as much as they liked . . . you must've had a vision of Clive in a halo
You're not special AG, anyone can twist the past to suit themselves . . . did you know Achilles was a bigger grub than Smith
