The Newcastle Rugby League has discarded its player points system and has adopted the RMC system for 2019 with some slight variations relating to transfers between Newcastle clubs.

Well that's a welcome relief as I saw it mentioned that it was being considered for the chopping block.

They've actually had a great setup for years. Dominated the Wests league, went to Group 6, dominated that, went to Canterbury, dominated that, then entered the Shield and are its most successful side.
Put a team in a competition below their standard of player and of course they will dominate.

Word around is that Blacktown won’t be fielding a shield side next year , only Massey,Cup and A grade div 1.

Any further news on Cabramatta possibly entering the ISP Cup as an entity with Canterbury?

I've also heard rumblings that Parramatta were close to severing their Wenty ties, but haven't seen anything concrete.

I am guessing it will be all pretty quiet for the next 4 weeks or so while everyone is having a break.

Guidelines:
1. Players are indexed at the highest level at which they played. 2. Ron Massey is capped at 100 points and Sydney Shield at 70 points per team per match. 3. A total of 17 players must be counted per match – 13 players with the 4 nominated reserves, if a team is unable to name 17 players they must advise the NSWRL accordingly. A team cannot
name fewer players to remain under the points. Where naming fewer than 17 players a club
must leave the min value of the missing number of players, ie if naming 16 players the total value for a Ron Massey team can be 98 points. 4. Points are not cumulative i.e. only one level per player. 5. It is the responsibility of the club and player to ensure that the assessment sheet is properly
completed and signed. Breaches shall apply for failure to comply with this requirement. 6. All points will be listed on LeagueNet on the player’s profile. 7. One point per year discount (up to a maximum of 5 points) for players who have previously
played with the club or with their designated junior league feeder club. A player history with
the club will only be assessed over the previous 10 years. Any consideration outside of the 10year period must be submitted in writing. 8. A player’s playing history will only be assessed from under 13’s and above – a player’s history will only count under 13’s if asking for a loyalty/ long serving player discount 9. Category A and B players will receive a discount of 1 point per year (up to a maximum of 10
points) for each year they have been out of the NRL or British Super League. 10. A player that has stayed with a club for all of his playing career (outside of NYC/ISP/NRL or
equivalent representation) will receive a further 1 point loyalty discount for returning to his ‘junior’ club 11. Discounts are not cumulative.
