I'm not super broken up about this call. It's early in the year, we are nowhere near in full flight yet but took the Roosters all the way only to lose on an incorrect call or three.
Yes, you were outscored 3 trys to 1 by a Roosters team that made 17, yes 17 errors!

Congrats.

Yep. Did Archer come out and state that they got it wrong there?

If not his selective nature is very curious indeed.

Personally I think it's very irresponsible for Archer to come out and pick and choose which calls he wants to say that the refs got wrong.

Every match should start with a disclaimer.

"Likely errors that may result in losing or winning, soz"

What I resent is people saying Penrith were robbed

A forward pass wasnt the reason they lost. They lost because the Roosters created an overlap - if the pass was backwards, we've have the e act same result.

And even if you take away the try, Roosters would still be 2 - 1 for tries.

100%

There is still a try scored if the pass goes backwards in which case panthers fans are talking about their team's inefficient attack and dodgy right side defence, which is exactly what they should be talking about.

Maybe that's why this call is proving such a big deal.

It's not the forward pass, but the fact that the Roosters were the beneficiaries of a match defining call for the first time since Bob Hawke was PM.

Cough cough...2013 Grand Final...cough cough...

Funny how we don't hear Archer saying that the ref made the wrong decision in not sending off Burgess in the Knights vs Rabbits game

He probably felt he had to say something because it was for the last try in a 2 point game but you absolutely have a point.

These things tend to even out over a season anyways but as sure as the day is long we will have a legit pass called back on that left side in the next couple of weeks because of the added attention Archer has brought to this.

That 2010 scrum was dodgy but we all know the hit on JWH was high. It was a straight shoulder to the face lol but as you say, ancient history.

Then there was the 2010 Tigers semi-final. Not to mention 2004 GF qualifier when the ref called fulltime with the Roosters clearly offside on their own line. Cows fans still talk about that one.

The 2004 El masri try that was held up

The 2010 Morris was in

The 2015 QF wrestlemania performance by melbourne

The 2014 QF Casty "double movement"

Perhaps with the exception of 2015, none of those instances were the reason we lost those games as there was plenty of other stuff in our control.

Move on

About as high as the one on Peachey last night.

Nah... one was high and one wasn't. They (channel 9) still to this day celebrate the hit on JWH as an all time great but it was a clear penalty.

Lucky they didn't call it though as what happened next was extraordinary.
