Do we try & take no risks with Dyl Bizza Marto? We have 9 day turnaround to next game so gives those guys a good rest. IC didn’t pull anyone out of Cup yest so prob won’t but who knows.

For me:
Turuva
McLean
Zak/Tago
Critta
Jenkins
Luai
NC
LSmith
Kenny
JFH
Soro
Garner/Zak
Yeo

Leota
Soni
Eiso

Depends on how badly Ivan wants to win the minor premiership if at all. If the Cowboys had won, it would have been tempting to give some players a rest for this game, especially those that are carrying niggles.

Crichton fullback. That is what will happen if Edwards goes down in a live game. May as well let him have some time there.

Manly's edge defence is awful. I can't see us losing this one.

Time to rest Dyl for certain. I thought Ch 9 commentary on Friday said they pulled him from warm-up with a hamstring twinge. I don't mind guys going around again with bumps and bruises, but nows not the time to lose Dyl for 4-5 weeks for hammy recovery.

I think round 26 will see several stars rested and will be subject to several results in the coming weeks.

If anyone is carrying anything, rest them. I am not even that concerned about the minor premiership but Edwards has been insanely consistent this year and any break could be the difference between winning and losing come september.

That being said, the sides we're likely to face have little option but to play their best sides until the finals, which works in our favour.

He’s leaving, no need to give him time at fullback, just play him his regular position the one he will be playing in his remaining games with us. Longi is probably more ready in my opinion that the likes of Cole or McLean at this stage. Same reason I wouldn’t move Turuva he just needs to do his job in his current position.

His name is Iongi with an capital i not Longi with an L. You also refused to do right by TPJ as well.

Sorry I didn’t realise italics or correct spelling were prerequisite for posting. I thought maybe the sentiment was a more important criteria. I’m sure I get more names wrong in attempting to pronounce certain Pacific Islander players than Longi or longi or iongi. I’ll check next time rather than put my foot in it.

I'm thinking about winning a competition.

If Edwards was gone for the season from today. Would you have Crichton or Iongi at fullback?

That’s a fair point, and it’s the reason why I say Longi (longi). I think we need to see whether he is up to the top grade rather than changing the whoLe dynamics of our main prefers backline. Ivan would probably go with Crichton, play it safe.

Personally, if we were to be fortunate enough to make this seasons GF I would prefer a centre combination of Crichton and Tago defending against Staggs and Farnworth. I would prefer Turuva to stay in his current position, doing the great job he has done all season. Blooding a newbie, such as Longi would be a risk, but he is a specialist, has been playing the position, and has pace, elusive skills etc etc. I dont even want to think about the possibility Dylan getting injured but I just think in such a situation maybe the safe option may not be enough.

It's just basic respect.

I think we are past the point of the long game at this stage of the season. Similar to discussions over Peachey/Hosking as centre back up. I think you are right about Ivan's thinking and I'd be surprised to see Iongi (In this game at least).

We've been extremely fortunate that Dylan has been a super trooper for so long. As fans we haven't had to think about covering him but it's a contingency we must have a plan for.
