Round 6 vs Sharks

Truthfully, two decisions against the Sharks played a major part resulting in a dominant score line.

That is, Dugan's 'no try' and the non call against Nightingale, who went over the sideline in the 62 minute. The latter incident led to JDB's decisive four pointer a few minutes later.

Sure, the Dragons were clearly the better team but the final result wasn't - in my opinion - a true reflection of how Cronulla really amped up their game.

The 10 minute period in the second half that saw the Sharks reduce a commanding 18 point advantage to just eight was also a concern.

Many other teams won't be so generous.

Spot on. It’s always good to beat the scum but the 40-20 scoreline shouldn’t mask areas to improve - a cohesive defensive line being one of them.

But then, as you saw with the interviews with Simms and Vaughn after the game, neither was happy with thier game, despite receiving awards for thier performances.

So they don't look to be getting carried away with the wins, that's a good sign.

It sure is. The last few rounds of 2017 still stings & it looks like they are using it as a motivator. The effort in every game this year has been miles ahead of those last few games(albeit on par with the Penrith one).
