Round 10 vs Raiders

Good to get the win, but I feel like we are frauds with our position on the ladder after such an ugly win. Still feel like our best game this season was the loss to the Storm. But so happy to be sitting in the top 4 going into our first bye.

We were the slightly better team, but didn't really play well or deserve a win IMO. Defence was dodgy at times. Raiders seemed to be able to offload at will. Scoring so easily when they hit our line in the first half.

Dodgy decisions went both ways though. I thought the Raiders scrum for being taken into touch and offloading into our chest was the worst decision of the game. It came at such a crucial time in the game, and was then followed up with a penalty for Shillington starting a fight with Segeyaro. We had a really bad run of calls against us but hung in. Momentum was against us for that period, and then when we finally got it Idris offloaded and invited them to score.

Ugliest win of the year. BUt still worth 2 points and a top 4 spot.

If you wanna see true comedy, go watch Ricky Stuart's press conference. I don't think there's two bigger sooks than him and campese! Actually used the "f" word describing the refs!

As much as i think Stuart is a complete tool those on field "brawls" were due to incompetent refereeing, Badger had no control over that game at all, the players frustration was evident and poor calls plus not letting the game flow was annoying to watch let alone being out there dealing with that.

Again if we played an inform team we would have been smacked but this is a bonus to what we were a couple of years ago where we would have let that game slip.

Pretty sure that paullyboy bloke is up there with Sticky and Campese. He totally outshone skeepe in the game day thread today. Very impressive butt hurt.
Crap performance but two points. Win away from home.

It's obvious that we are and have been all season,a work in progress.

We are by any means nowhere near the class and polish of the Souths or Bulldogs teams, but that will come.

And it does take time.

Bulldogs are making a habit of winning close games without being all that impressive. They are more a demon tackling outfit than anything else. Souths were pretty damn average this weekend. No team is taking the comp by the scruff of the neck. Hence our 6 and 4 has us in 3rd spot at least for the next 2 weeks.

Yeah I think the two dragons games and sharks game are the only ones which we should be able to bank on, the rest will be a fight.

Whatever the case about who we've played if you'd told me 3rd after 10 rounds at the start of the season I'd take it everyday.

It was always going to take some time when you have so many new players in the one team. Particularly a totally new halves combo.

I thought the same thing! Usually it's skeepe carrying on like a complete tool, but paullyboy was ridiculous today. Maybe he's the lovechild of Ricky and campo? Ha ha

Well between our absolutely woeful defense (biggest peeve was f**king Milford making it back into the field of play on that kick return) and some exceptionally dodgy calls that was the most frustrating game I've had to watch all season. Threw a few things and lucky the neighbours don't speak English because they would have picked up some inventive swearing.

Got there, though. Broke the streak. Call me pessimistic but I actually expected us to lose today since this is typically the kind of game we roll over in. I understand they are frustrated (and desperate) but geez the Raiders players were a bunch of sooks. Tossing up if it's worth my time to peruse the match thread for some fans sooking as well. It's almost as if people think they deserve to win against us.

Our defence wasn't woeful, in the first half it was sub-standard, but in the second when we were being hammered on our line for most of the half, our defence won us the game.

Yes, Milford should have been tackled in-goal.

Goal line defense was good, I'll grant you, but every other part of the field we were falling off and missing tackles like crazy.

Offloads were killing us. The scramble & goal line defence in the 2nd half was impressive. TBH I am not that worried where we finish this year, as long as we never give up on a game. So far they haven't rolled over at all this year. That makes me happy.

He was pretty quiet most of the game. I think his whinging finally overpowered him, and he briefly transcended his human form to become whinge incarnate and possess the lot. The faiders faithful really picked up the slack.

Edit: Failing that, has anybody ever seen Skeepe or Paullyboy in the same room as Sticky or Campese
