Personally I hope that. Thompson stays because if he can maintain the form he showed against the cowboys last Saturday he will be a success for us. He was running hard and breaking tackles almost at will last Saturday, was a joy to watch from the hill at kogarah

Always worries me when a player starts playing out of his skin around whispers of a new contract... but im still hopeful that the new culture will help cement some of the players loyalty (I dont blame them for struggling under Steve Price).

He has improved, playing like he should do, but like the REV I always am suspicious in a sudden turn round in form when contracts are being discussed.

No doubt though at the moment he is a real asset in our team.

I observe him when they sing the team song in the sheds and he is one of the most enthusiastic and seems genuinely quite happy to be part of the team

Why would there be any talk of a contract ?
When does his current one run out I thought he signed for 4 yes?

Anyway I hope he stays IMO he is a good player & is starting to warm to the task, maybe it coincides with the sacking of price who's record of getting the best out of players is very ordinary.

What i find interesting a player signs for a club that is further away from his previous club surely he would have to take into account his family and such.

This seems to be the norm these days players getting home sick and such I never really saw it through the previous years I can understand family comes first but on the money Thompson is on to throw that away to go back to the Faiders begs the question why leave.

Just going off his tweets, je sounds like he is loving it at the moment...

Some of his tweets things like "what a feeling it is to sing this" he was referring to victory chant..

Heaps of times he has had nothing but praise for " The big red V"...

I know it could be a front but his performances recently and his comments indicate to me that he is happy.

Maybe it took a while for him and the family to settle in..

Quite possibly he was just pulling the home sick card because he was unhappy with Price at the time and wanted out.

The recent wins would have definitely helped overall as well.

Or it was a load of crap made up by some guy on twitter just to get more followers.

At the after match function in Auckland Joel walked straight to a table of supporters and introduced himself to each person and sat there chatting. He is a genuine person who I am happy to have at the club.We have a squad of players who we as supporters can be proud of.

Just speculation but I think that Mary's straight forward approach would work better with a guy like Joel. I can just picture Price getting under his skin

Until something concrete comes to the fore that he is leaving, then I expect him to be wearing the Red V.
He's hitting form, looks happy on and off the field, team is on the up.
He's one talented player and very versatile.

His imporved performance has more to do with starting, & Creagh moving back to prop as it always should have been.
