They've been heavily linked with Bellyache for almost a decade now I reckon....

I reckon his manager just uses the Warriors to make Melbourne pay him more.

He may well be tempted to jump to the Warriors with that new spine turning up at the Warriors next season...

Jump an ageing ship with a spine on its last legs on to a new one with a young spine...

Hasn't Bellamy made strong indications this is his last club contract? Or is he going to sign one more? I can't see him signing one final one elsewhere. And doesn't his family live in Sydney? Wouldn't make sense to join us.

I imagine he'll bow out at the Storm when the big 3 go around 2017, then take up the Kangaroos gig.

He did say that when he re-signed with the Storm the last time - but has since implied that he wasn't in a great place with the game at the time and that decision may not be final. It's all innuendo at this point, he may well just decide to kick back into a non-head coach role (or a rep coach role).

Last time we were linked I had no confidence in it happening - but at least now there might be the slightest of chances... I'm calling it 'The Doyle Effect'.

Mate told me that he saw somewhere that we were talking to Mitch Cornish as a replacement for Chad next year.

Googled it and cant see anything.

This would make me quite happy. Lolohea is a really great prospect, but we could probably use another half to compete with him for that 6 jersey. He's off contract and has seemingly little chance at the Raiders... Williams took his spot (until injury struck) and looked awesome, while Sezer is coming on presumably a decent wage next year as well - and Blake Austin has a mortgage on the #6. Any chance Cornish is a good goalkicker (I have no idea since Croker takes their first grade kicks) to put a cherry on top? Anyone know?

We could probably get away without an extra half, but if a guy like Cornish is available and willing...

His next move is to rule out Hoffman for the entire origin series.

First and foremost player welfare had two concussions within a month, a third is now serious risk of permanent damage, should another happen in a short space of time. (Seriously look it up).

The time between concussions is a critical factor.

Bloke needs at least a month off, with the wife on hawk duty making sure he is not picking up the pepper when she knows he normally goes the salt.

Secondly you invested, protect it, do not let NSW hurt him.

Origin nor NRL is no place for a bloke knocked senseless twice in a month.

Be a good boss, stand him down and pay for him to go join the squad and have a month off.

Doc Mayhew talks a big game on player safety, so I am watching with interest.

You're 100% right though, Hoffman won't want to stand down, but it is the time to exercise caution - we'll do well across this period anyway.

Won't happen, of course, he'll play - and unfortunately whether he's knocked out again or not, he will get knocked about, you can't avoid it...

Yeah standing him down for Origin simply won't fly - despite the NRL's 'tough new stance' (lol...) regarding player welfare, they'd have an almighty fit if a player like Hoff was ruled out on something like this for their precious centrepiece. No quicker way to possibly get a player offside with the club as well, even though that is (as it should be) secondary to his welfare.

I would at the very least take the option of stopping him backing up from Origin with those concerns in mind.

I don't understand how these players can play so quickly.
I had a concussion, knocked me off work for a week and couldn't play for close to a month (this was 2 years ago) (playing football not league)
This year,I had another one, knocked me off work for a month and I can't play for at least a year if at all

Hoffman won't be stood down... Not at 50K per game.

Hoffman will tell Doc Mayhew to f**k off and get the NSW doc to clear him.

All the codes talk a big game on concussions but rarely deliver it. So Hoffman will be on the field in Game 1, even when his paymasters will very likely say he shouldn't.

Good to see Lillyman there too - with Matulino's form and Jake's injury affected start, he's gone under the radar a little - and some here don't rate him...

You know exactly what you're going to get with Bull. Perfect fourth banana in the QLD set-up, not going to do anything silly, will give you nigh on 10m every carry, hit hard and make his tackles.

Yep, which is also why he's so good for us...

Hoffman is terrific too, again many thought he was a poor signing... I just worry about the concussions, they'll say the medics know best, but it's BS - there actually should be a mandatory stand down imo

I agree. Should be a minimum mandatory stand down, whether or not the doctor deems it's needed, to take it out of the hands of the players/clubs who are thinking about other things than the player's long term welfare. Something like a week off (so minimum two weeks after the concussion they can play again). For repeat concussions it should increase to a month or something.

Our recruitment players (non Warrior juniors) currently are doing very well imo

Bodene has made a much bigger impact than I thought he would

Hoffman is proving his doubters wrong. I can't remember my stance when it was announced but iirc, I was concerned he was over the hill

You know what you'll get from Bull week-in, week-out.

Wright has been solid, given the expectation would be that he'd be reserves all year, also given our injury toll, he may he's proving good value.

Allwood/Payroux are decent squad members to have. Allwood out of favour and Peyroux has recently struggled.

Tomkins possibly a let down but only due to hype. He is still a very good fullback.

Add in RTS and Luke. Hoping we can nab another signing or two

Sam Moa will be great too.
