Hurrell Gone?

If he goes he goes, if he stays he stays.

His manager was always going to throw a hissy when he wasn't named this week and it wouldn't shock me if we were still keen to get rid of him despite his hard work over the off season.

If he goes, he didn't have the fortitude to earn his spot back. If he stays, hopefully he does. I said that pre-season and I maintain it. Its probably win-win. I'd bet the house that Ayshford and Kata aren't in the centres all year, and probably not even for the first 8-10 rounds. So there will be an opportunity if he's good enough to take it.

This is like the 472738492 time that I've heard that Konnie was leaving. I'm not believing it until I hear it from Konnie.

No way should we be blasé about him leaving. He's apparently super fit and keen as, let's see what he can do with that for us rather than against us.

If he falls flat again this year then, for his sake, he should try his luck somewhere else.

By the way, does he ever carve it up in NSW Cup? My impression is that he often plays run of the mill down there, which won't help him, or us, at all.

.

Being keen and super fit shouldn't warrant selection.
Yes it helps
Has he worked on his D?
Has he worked on his running style?

Didn't this all start with Tony Adams? He is like Rugby League's Ken Ring...

We need Hurrell. We have Ayshford starting this week guys.

Ken Ring - legend.

Konnie is perfectly suited to ESL... bash and crash and use the ol Tongan sidestep...

Fair point, but do you reckon he can be coached on this stuff? Or is it just left up to him to work out? Along with his junior coach/coaches he's onto his fourth senior head coach with us (inc. Iro).

The coach is a bit scarred with how things ended last year, I reckon. Which includes a capitulation at Saturday's venue, Campbelltown (Konnie wasn't playing but partying on stage at a concert on the Friday night before the game, remember).

I can't blame Cappy for starting out this season with some new guys, they might have some heart when the chips are down.

Channel 9 Brisbane tonight saying he is signing with the Titans and the Titans will have a major announcement to make as soon as the paperwork is completed.

I didn't care before if he stayed or went but now, after the work he has done in the off season, I will be pretty annoyed if he leaves. He has talent and has worked hard; not sure if he has been well coached.

Konnie is the class clown, he needs a good kick up the arse and then he might amount to something..

I've made my peace now if he goes.

If he does, clearly he doesn't want it enough. He's worked bloody hard in the off-season and said all the right things. But to turn around after the 1st week when he's not named, when short of Immortal-esque performances in trials he was always going to be in NSW Cup, just proves he's weak under it all. We all know the odds are pretty good he'll play soon if he's going well down there, someone will slip up.

And really, we know we'll never get the best out of him in our less than professional environment. So we let him go, knowing it'll never work.

Just don't say you're going to the Titans to 'play your best footy'. Who's ever done that? Take unders and go to the Storm, or somewhere like that. Otherwise we all know you're just picking up a paycheque.
