Pretty sure ChrisD was actually agreeing with you blokes & you all turned on him.

Sensational.

They know. They just wanted to give him shit about something separate. It’s called banter. If you weren’t such a humorless scold in your forum interactions, you’d recognize it.

Not that I want to bring up old news. But after this Moylan fiasco do you still think this was just gossip?

I something must of happened, I’m happy for them to keep it in house. I’d hate to see a kids career ruined over something over a silly mistake.

Honestly, I’d have May in front of him anyway and I don’t think Luai is far from catching him either.

Great kid though, really hope he kicks on.

If that's why they are so tight lipped I don't blame them.

Not sure all the hate for Gus is warranted. Sure he lied, but that is how it probably needed to play out. It's just spin doctoring, all the clubs do it.

Can you imagine the reaction if he came out and said;

"Our captain and potentially best player has a problem with

<insert one or more of the below options>
* Drugs
* Alcohol
* Gambling
* Infidelity
* Authority
* Is a spoilt brat
* Doesn't play well with others
* etc, you get my drift

We have spent a lot of time, effort and money on him but as a result of the above we are going to move him out the door quietly, but we wont be doing this until we get a better player."

Does anyone know what's happening with Maloney? Trying to get hyped about the roster but there's no word. I tried all knowing google.

Flanno is prepared to let him go, essentially said he would be happy for Jimmy to secure his future with a longer more lucrative deal than we can provide, but we can afford to keep him on what he is on now.
3 years on decent coin but apparently the issue is the Third Party portion of the deal, some one backed out.

I do not have inside knowledge, this is just what I have read.

Sorry mate, didn't realise it was #bantz, seemed like they were all having a jolly good laugh about it...

Not that I want to lose Jimmy he did help us win the big one.

But like Flanno if he can get a better deal and set his family up good luck to him.

He is also a nice fit for the Pennies right now, experienced successful half, to compliment the best up and coming half in the game.

NSW needs Cleary to kill it.

If a current 2 time premiership winning, Incumbent NSW and Aus rep half can't help Cleary's game he is a lost cause.

And now I'm getting hyped. Whoever thought Maloney would get my footy juices flowing.

I have to say that I'm warming quite nicely to Maloney's imminent move to the foot of the mountains.

As I said in a previous post, it's not as if we're replacing Moylan with a 'Will Smith' type player. We're gaining a playmaker that is a proven match winner, premiership winner and current Australian representative.

The positives far outstrip the negatives IMHO

He's a good fit for us & Moylan seems a good fit for the Sharks. Both players have something to prove, I'm hopeful we'll see the best of Maloney (or as close to given his age).

IMO 7. Cleary 6. Maloney is currently stronger then 7. Cleary 6. Moylan, so it doesn't diminish our chances of Top 4 by any means.

NOW that Matt Moylan has signed with Cronulla, expect Penrith to waste little time extending the deals of the two players who had started to enjoy wearing his No. 1 and No. 6 jerseys.

Tyrone May and Dylan Edwards are off contract at the end of next year — and officially free to be targeted by rival clubs — but are expected to stick around at the Panthers for a few years yet.

Gus doesnt need to tell us what the issue is. Just not lie about there being none.

Simply ignore the rumours and say nothing, or confirm that Moylan is exploring his options for 2018. The issue with lying to the fans is the club can't be believed anymore.

They lied about TMM. They lied about Moylan. Who's going to trust what Gus has to say now?

Hopefully we can get them and Cleary to sign new deals before next season... and hopefully the club and player both are happy to honour them.

Edwards signature is just as important as Cleary's signature IMO, this kid will be one of best fullbacks in the NRL shortly (he's already becoming one now).
