Nathan Brown v Wayne Bennett

I think Brownie has been rightly pissed at Bennett for the past 2 years at the state he left the club in. I’m sure it’s worse than it appeared, if that’s possible. But browny decided to keep quiet out of respect for Wayne.

When Wayne tried to claim he left the place in good shape and suggest the rebuild was unnecessary...it’s basically undermining his achievements, what he’s poured his heart and soul into. I’d be pissed as well and just be like...right oh you wanna talk about this? Let’s go!
He's been taking subtle shots for the 2 and a half years since Stone got sacked.

Indicating that Newcastle was 'unbuilt' as if to say there was no need to do what Brown has done there was the a personal insult. f**k him. He made it personal.

You need to find out what personal means.
annoying as it might be, criticism of a coach's professional actions & decision-making is not personal.

criticism of a coaches' private life is.

it is ironic given creeping said upon coming to saints just how in good shape the place was that he inherited from browneye.

Nathan Brown may be right to be aggrieved at Bennett's comments on football matters.

But he went personal, which is pretty ugly in a South African cricket kind of way.
Does this mean Brisbane will be done for the cap now?

The thing with Wayne is he demands his players be their own harshest critics. And that works. It breeds accountability.
He however doesn't like any sort of introspection of himself and his actions (which have at times been shitty).

Wayne has taken plenty of subtle shots and digs at many people over the years.

Wayne is a chisel, Nathan Brown decided he'd rather be a hammer.

Different strokes for different folks.

The key to any good joke is the delivery not the joke itself.
They way Brown nervously got up straight after the joke it was cringeworthy tbh
Crap. He delivered the shot and as they say, ‘dropped mic and left the stage’

Nah it's crude for a coach to be cracking jokes at a press conference about another coaches personal life. Particularly when he had been clearly practising the line.

Leave it to the neville nobodies in the outer.
Normally I am 'holier than thou' as f**k but I completely disagree with you.
Stop making excuses for Bennett.

Brown stayed civil amid taking on a dumpster fire situation.
He worked hard and patiently built this team up.
Bennett wouldn't have had his personal life brought in if he's had kept his mouth shut.

Instead he tried it and Brown said what we were ALL thinking.
