He has to go.Fair dinkum plodder. We need a strike weapon in the centres like a cooper or gasnier.Mann to centre Lafai to England or Toronto.Mary with him.Rorters were red hot in that first half and if we can pick it up a notch or 3 we are still travelling ok.Maintain the rage boys.Luciano also has to get more minutes there is something about that boy he has the X factor.Lafai But has to be shown the door immediately.I thought Nightingale was solid
Stop the hate go Jason.

I actually think Aitken is a more pressing concern right now. True Lafai is not also up to form right now, but in terms of being an active detriment, Aitken's defence is shocking.

Lafai is not a defensive liability. He has a few errors in him and I would prefer 2 new centres, but I wouldn't be dropping Lafai over a few others in our team yet

We play very weak teams after the Warriors.......well weak teams to everybody else, world beaters to us.

Anyho, why, during a couple of those games could we not give Lomax a go, if he goes well we could have a strike weapon no one knows anything about heading into the finals., if he doesn’t Lafai or Aitken at least get the kick in the ass they deserve.

But we are talking about Mary, so steady as she goes down boys.

Lafai has to go. His absolute best game is mediocre. Just look at some of the centres running around FFS!
Lafai has been mostly shite for 3 years now.
He cannot be in the team next year. He is a plodder. Thats it, thats all.
Agree, Aitken had a shocking game but Lafai has been worse and for longer.
Gives us nothing most weeks and frustrates the hell out of me.
If the same side is picked, which it probably will barring Nene maybe, we are stuffed.

For the most part I have supported Lafai's selection week in, week out. He is a better player than you or me, but my conclusion is that he is only at his best when the team is going well, and seems to 'ride the wave' rather than stamp his authority over an opponent. What is now proven is that he is not a match winner, and never is going to be. Certainly seemed far more dangerous as a Bulldog. Yesterday against a star-studded backline it really was so obvious how he is a weak link. The opposition would look at his name in the line-up and go 'yep, no worries'.

Next.

Both our centres are not up to scratch and we will be found out if and when we make the finals.
McDonald and Mann would be a good pairing in my view.

I really don't understand, Lafai was killing it, Aitken was Origan bound, Surely McGregor can reignite these players, since McGregor thinks like a perfectionist , I think Deter Poust needs a good holiday!

Lafai and Aitken are as bad as each other but for differing reasons.
As people say stats aren't everything but they do show a picture of performance. Besides Tries scores (which Aiken leads 10 to 5) and Line breaks (Aitken leads 9 to 6, tbh I would have thought this to be higher in Aitkens favour), Lafai trumps Aitken in other areas such as Try assists (Lafai leads 4 to 1) and Missed tackles Aitken has 37 to Lafai 17. Tackle breaks (Aitken 63 to 61) Tackle efficiency (85% to 84%) are pretty even. Running metres ave per game is also surprising at Aitken 120 to Lafai 111.

Perception is a wonderful thing and favouritism does enter into debates such as this, but lets be honest, we don't have a suitable replacement to challenge at this time and this close to the finals.

Everyone wants Lomax to be the Messiah, but even he is behind in development and game time after a long lay off. You just need to see the highlights of the ISP game yesterday to confirm this.

I truly expect both Lafai and Aitken to be chosen each week now and into the finals

Macdonald and Mann wouldn't be anywhere near as good as most pairings in other teams in the NRL.
The backs of the storm, roosters, broncos, souths all make our blokes look like park footballers.
If we isolate the timeframe and the predicament we find ourselves in, McDonald and Mann will not be worse than what we're trotting out now.
Whether or not they can compete against the high flyers remains to be seen.
They are already making us look like park footballers so what have we got to lose??
Having said that, both these boys are accomplished centres and the only question in my mind is whether they would have enough time to develop a combination.

Lafai had a shocker yesterday. Constantly beaten on the outside and then running out on our 20mtr line. I would' drop him now and put Aitkin on notice.
It might be time to bring in Lomax if he is not injured.
We also need to get Luciano into the game a lot earlier

Mate, Id be stoked with any change because that would mean that players have been put on notice and Mary had grown a set. Honestly, Mary should drop both centres after that performance on the weekend and say go back to ISP and learn the basics.
How many times in the last few years have we seen Lafai thrown into touch now?
Then BOOM the opposition scores and its game over. Its not acceptable from someone with his experience.
It was OK from Dufty at the start of the year because he is in his first year of NRL and he's learning.
Lafai is just shit. Its either flick passes into the 3rd row or getting bustled into touch on the 1st or 2nd tackle EVERY FRICKEN YEAR!
