Mate, he threatened to murder a 9 year old child after breaking into their house...

He should be in jail, for a long long time. He made more than a dickhead of himself.

He didn’t know the people, he was extremely intoxicated and believed the poor family were in his accommodation.

I’m quietly confident that he did not start out that evening with the intention of breaking into a house and scaring the shit out of a family.

It doesn’t matter anyway, I’m not defending his actions, I’d be willing to give him a chance.

That’s my opinion and I’m certainly not try to change any of yours.

I am recovering from a heart attack, an attack in which I almost died from. I do not need this stress.

I'm sorry you had to go through that and hope you have a great recovery but you don't need to get snappy at people here. It could be a nice reprieve for you.

This forum is entirely opt in. No one is forcing you to comment on anything.

If you have a heart condition, and you find the opinions of others on this forum aggravate you to the point that your heart is racing, perhaps you should log out for a while.

I'm guessing that would be much better for your physical and mental health. Probably wouldn't help your ego or victim complex though. But again, it's your choice.

Ego, and victim complex? I was only pointing out why I am sensitive to that. My God what a stupid thing to say. I pity you.

If every player with a shady or criminal past was banned from playing, we would not have a sport to follow (a little bit of sarcasm there for clarity)

Lets face it, we follow a game where violence is cheered and rewarded.

What does that make us as fans?? It's really not much different to the gladiator days, only without swords and killing. Even the stadiums are the same.

I pay good money to watch grown men (and some of them barely adults), hit each other as hard as possible. The bigger the hit, the more I cheer.

Lodge is a good player, like it or not. He will get a contract, here or somewhere else.

lol... Come on man...

Everyone gets to have an opinion, you have yours. But seriously, come on..

Having just been part of a successful prosecution of a man who was charged with 9 counts of child abuse and received a grand total of a “3 year good behaviour bond”... yeah I’ll give Lodge a shot.

Mate of mine who is a huge Warriors fan was never a fan of Cleary and thought that his sole attacking plan was to bomb it to Manu. He reckons the Warriors around that time were talented enough to go far no matter who the coach was.

This is a huge step sideways in my opinion. Cleary will achieve about as much or as little (depending on your perspective) as Griffin did.

Interesting.

I certainly don’t think much of his attacking structures, that’s for sure. I don’t see Nathan Improving under his coaching unless we have a really smart tactician as an assistant.

But I do think he’ll improve our mistakes & discipline, the tigers this year seemed to defend pretty well.

To me he’s an out and out defensive coach.

They finished 5th and 6th in 2010 and 2011 though. The GF run in 2011 was good but it isn't like they dominated at any stage like would be expected with us

Fair point.

Pressure is on. We’ll know within 2 years if Cleary can coach or not.

Oh, but we’ve effectively given him 5 years...

Off field matters though. Look at the school visits side of things... If he wasn't a footballer he'd never get near a school with his record. So why should because he has talent cancel that out?

I'd love zero tolerance for any conviction

That's going too far imo but I sure as f**k don't want anyone who harms women or children at our club

Regarding Ivan returning. I thought he was hard done by when Gus showed him the door. We had a terrible run of injuries that year and he also had the cougar as his fitness coach.

Whether he is able to fix our discipline and our attack in the opposition 20, time will tell. He did well with the cattle he had at the Tigers this year. Although they fell away at the back end of the year.

What to do if we have a bad year next year. If we finish bottom 4 what do we do then? If we sack Ivan again will Nathan go with him. A lot of pressure on the Cleary family to get us deep into the finals. Missing the 8 with the amount of money we are throwing their way wont be welcomed by the fans.

On the bright side the last time we won the comp was with a father son combination (John and Martin Lang).

Can anyone think of any other father/ son combinations in the NRL?
Flannigans at the Sharks is the only other one I can think of.

If we fail on the football field a lot of that will be because of Nathan. He’s now the highest paid panther ever, he needs to play like it.
