Please. He easily makes our 17.
He's been no where near his best since 2016. How long can we wait at his age?
CHN was surplus to our needs and we couldn’t match the Gold Coasts offer. Different circumstances.
Only Luke would say Mez cant be replaced and laugh at the idea of even approaching Taupau or Klemmer. He's been no where near his best since 2016. How long can we wait at his age?

Apparently we lose something if a player says no. Nevermind the fact that all 16 clubs want him and only one will get a yes.
Only MX would completely misinterpret wha I said. Which is frustrating when it’s written right in front of him.
Please show me where I said Mez can’t be replaced? Don’t put words in my mouth!
I said it’s stupid to let him go without a player if his experience lined up to replace him.
I also said that Klemmer and Marty aren’t options. I’d be stoked to have either of them, but it won’t happen.
Geez you people are hard work.
Normally I would agree that getting rid of Merrin would be a poor decision because our team is in dire need of experience BUT he is on 750k and he is not worth a third of that right now, sure he was a rep player in the past but he is a long way down the pecking order for any rep side now, we shouldn't keep a player on experience alone if he offers very little on game day, especially if he is one of our top earners.

That is essentially it. Of course find a suitable replacement but he isn't playing well enough to keep on either. He will be released shortly.

I'd have Grant over him.
atm I can't see our bench backrower. We have a decent enough front row rotation even without Merrin

If we’re not bringing anyone new in, and we’re under the cap for 2019, what’s the point of getting rid of Merrin now?
The money saved needs to be for something, otherwise you keep him.
Don’t have time to look at all the stats now, but I’m pretty sure he averages more meters per minute than any of our other props in 2018.
Based on what? The form that he showed in not being about to get a run in a pack which is a lot weaker than ours??
Luckily your not picking the team, that’s all I’m saying.

Confident something will come from our reserves. Cleary had some guys like Matt Robinson and Mitch Achurch firing at stages. I think he has form turning players into reliable first graders.
Same could be said for why release CHN and Peachey. That didn't change the cap position for 2019 hopefully it gave us some cash to play with though
