So, what are those changes?

Renshaw and Burns should come straight in.
They should never have been dropped in the first place.
Why some players get chance after chance whilst others get dropped after a few bad innings is mind-boggling and the worse part is that IMO Renshaw is tailor made for test match batting while 5 of the 6 batsmen/all-rounders in this test are NOT test batsmen.

The selection of Finch is an indication that the selectors have lost touch with reality

How, post-Sanderpaper, Pat Cummins wasn't given, at very least, the VC...will remain a mystery to me forever.

Allan Border is spot on though. Bat him at 7. Hell...you slot in a Jhye Richardson or a SOK for Sydney...and ping off MMarsh and Finch (for another opener) and it already looks a stronger side.

Would love to see SOK there if it's a typical SCG deck.
He seems to be well out of favour these days though. Not one of the selector's pets.

The thing that baffles me is that they don't see how this is a huge indictment on the top six. They sit back and go "well we fought hard with the bat and we got close"....no, we didn't. Our bottom five plus Khawaja and Head to an extent did. The rest were shit.

This happening twice to varying degrees should be the catalyst for change in the top six, because we obviously need more runs at the top, but the administration refuse to look at it that way

Yeah, and I feel like a lot of that points to Shaun Marsh. He is supposedly your premier batsman and he's averaging 29 in the series with a HS of 60

Can't pick Renshaw on form now, and straight out of grade cricket. He'll have to wait.

Renshaw doesn't deserve selection on form either.

Marsh is a problem, for sure. He's 35 and hasn't made it in Test cricket, he never will.

But Finch and Mitch Marsh are bigger issues. We know that Shaun Marsh is CAPABLE of scoring hundreds, and in most conditions. It's a sad position to be in but given where we sit he probably needs to stay for the short term, although maybe we need to use him differently somehow.

The other two are walking wickets with no real Test match form behind them ever
