Gold coin entry tomorrow... I've just finished gluing a couple of 5c pieces together and painting them with gold paint.

It is a criminal offence under the Crimes (Currency) Act 1981 (Cth) to deface or destroy current Australian currency coins, except if it is used to defraud a venue primarily used by the AFL or to show disdain for the administrators or top 6 of the home team on the last day of a test match. It is also an offence to sell or possess current coins that have been defaced. Defacing a coin includes coating the surface of the money with any sort of material. The penalty for defacing coins, or selling or possessing money that has been defaced, is $5,000 or imprisonment for two years for an individual (or both).

I don’t think we’ll see a single change for Sydney, they’re too pig headed for it. However I’d overhaul the whole batting lineup.

Burns
Khawaja
Renshaw (yeah, he’s out of form, who isn’t?)
Patterson
Head
Wade
Paine
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Tremain (we need a fresh bowler)

Desperate times, desperate measures...

I think there are probably a few options at six, realistically.

Chief among them being Matt Wade, for the short term. All jokes aside the bloke has scored 570 shield runs this year at 65-odd. If he's ever going to make it as Test bat, it's now.

Daniel Hughes is probably playing a bit better now than he was last year when he was allegedly in the mix. He can open, or bat six. He could open and have Joe Burns slot in the middle somewhere, maybe four, and push Shaun Marsh to 5 and Head to 6.

Jake Lehmann has been decent, 460 odd runs at 46. Kurtis Patterson wouldn't be my first pick cos of his poor conversion rate, but he's averaging 50-odd. Even Alex Carey, albeit in only 2 games, is averaging 75.

So we have options we could look at.

Conversion rate is irrelevant at this point, if our batsmen were making 50’s we’d be winning.

Patterson knows how to occupy the crease, we need steady batting.
