Australian cricket is going down the same path as the West Indies,we will never recover or have a good team ever again

He'll be caught in slips/gully a lot, I'm hoping I'm wrong though...
Last series in England he scored 5 fifties and 418 runs at 46.44.

Can't see any of the current team averaging above 40 in England.

He only failed twice. It really cost us that he couldn't convert those 50s.

I don't think he got caught in the cordon that many times either.

It was mainly that stupid half pull shot off the hip that got him into trouble.

He only scored 142 first innings runs at 28.4 in the 2015 ashes series, with 85 of those runs coming in the last test (which was a dead rubber).

Minimum overs for a refund in Tests or ODIs is 15 overs. Minimum for BBL and T20Is is 6 overs. Glad I only went the cheap tickets yesterday. With barely a dusting of rain, plus some slightly dark cloud, I was left scratching my head why they couldn't be out there playing.

So second innings runs don’t count now??? Even though they are the hardest to score.....

What a load of...1st innings runs are so far more important than 2nd innings runs. Do you know anything about cricket?

Especially when Australia were rolled for 60 and 135 in two of their first innings in that series lol

Quote me where I said first innings runs aren’t more important??? I said said so second innings runs don’t count now and they are harder to make. Where is that wrong??

Look at most batsman’s averages they are lower in the 3rd and 4th innings. Asking me if I know anything about cricket while you get all your info off Statsguru. Oh and a lol for you.

How long can we bat for today with the rains help? 35-40 overs tops?

So basically we need the weather to whipe out 2 sessions, for a moral boosting draw

Honestly, I want Australia to bat the day out and not be saved by rain. Earn the draw.
Not that they can do much about the weather of course.

Problem with that, you will get Langer saying things like

‘We showed what we are capable of’

‘We won all the little battles today’

‘Will lead is in good stead for tough times ahead’

‘I asked the boys to have a good look at themselves, and they did’

All well and good, but a bit like the Eels outscoring the opposition in the last 2nd half, going down 36-16 at FT. Superlatives when you have had your ass handed over to you on a silver plate is all he will have to continue to happiness and positivity. Bit of a false dawn.

But hopefully it can improve some of the averages

You implied that first innings run don’t count as a counter argument to the stats that I presented that he massively failed in the first innings of the first four tests in 2015. The two games we won in that series (both in London) we scored 400+ in the first dig.

What’s wrong with presenting stats from cricinfo? I’m intrigued to understand this line of thinking

I'm looking at it more as the players playing for their spot in the team. But yeah Langer would make some airy fairy nonsense out of it which helps no one.

I think we need a tactical coach who doesn't do much of the emotional stuff and looks at more like a puzzle to be solved.

Yes good point

Labuschagne to secure his no3 position. Poms will be shaking in their boots

He said no such thing. Your the one implying

Clearing asked you if 2nd innings don’t count, cause they are harder to score
