He said no such thing. Your the one implying

Clearing asked you if 2nd innings don’t count, cause they are harder to score

Good to see the parra fans sticking up for each other.

He implied it because he had no come back to the first innings failures of David Warner.

In the context of the games played in that series, second innings runs didn’t really count as we were that far behind due to the poor first innings performances.

So basically we need the weather to whipe out 2 sessions, for a moral boosting draw

A draw by the 2 sweetest words in the English language.

Good news: rain will save us from a f**king humiliating defeat.

Bad news: rain will save Shaun Marsh from being dropped.

Marsh just looks so out of place... They've gotta drop him surely

You're probably right though.

"Shaun made some starts without going on with it, and we feel that the Sri Lanka series is a good chance for him to get some confidence back..."

Thise merkins are weak enough to give him a hundred too. Probably at Manuka. While I drink myself to death on mid strength Carlton because of it

Hoepfully there is no play today so india do not get any on field celebration and kohli cant collect a stump.

That is my only solace.

Lol flicked over to see what was happening, Warnie was seriously trying to suggest Yasir Shah as the best spinner in the world.

The bloke averages 60 in NZ/SA/AUS/ENG for f**ks sake....

He might get Darcy Short out though

If 2nd innings stats dont count why do we play tests?

Bang on.

1st innings sets up the match, 2nd innings produces the result.

For mine - 2nd innings performance shows the true character of a test team. The batsmen and the bowlers/fielders - all after significant time has passed in the game how mentally and physically strong they are to play to the conditions of the match, the pitch, the weather, in order to get the best result possible for their country.

It's not that 2nd innings runs "don't count", but they were were hardly crucial runs as all 5 tests were won and lost in the 1st dig. Good knocks in the 3rd and 5th (dead) test, but a poor series overall.

we really should be using the SL series to blood newbies with a view to the Ashes not helping old duds find some form against an inferior attack that will in no way resemble what we'll be facing in England

how many more f**king chances does he need ?

The Fox panel were talking about Shaun Marsh this morning and one of them suggested Shaun Marsh is a world class batsman but is a nervous starter.

To be fair I was only half listening while getting ready for work so may have missed a detail in the conversation but World Class batsman do not have Test averages of 34.72 at the age of 35.

We should be going in a different direction against Sri Lanka but I'll bet that we pick Marsh and he hits a 100 and books his ticket to England where he will be embarrassed by Anderson and friends

I've heard a few times of a stat that once he gets to double figures he's got an average over 50 or something like that. Someone here may know what it might be. But that's what i'd think the reference is to.
