Ten best full backs of the NRL era

As good as Wesser was in 2003 it's debatable that he was even the best fullback that season. Schifcofske was leading the Dally M when voting went behind doors and would've run second to Gower if it wasn't cancelled, and Schif was better over the 2001 - 2006 period as a whole. He would've been fullback of the year twice in that period when the talent was an at an absolute peak.

Even then I couldn't fit him into the Top 10, he didn't have the rep career to justify it.
Pft, Schifcofske. Best player in a dud team = more Dally M points.

Raiders fans need to watch more footy.

LO. Minichiello 2005 Golden Boot winner, “not on Stewart’s level.”

You are in Disneyland. Stewart couldn’t dream of matching Minichiello’s goal-line defence or outright sprint pace.
I've always considered Minichiello as the player that decided the 2003 GF.

Being ahead in the dally m pole means nothing.

In 2003 Panthers had Gower, Campbell, Galuavo, Pulatua, Priddis etc plus all the young stars taking dally m points of whesser. Whessee could have had 3 8/10 games in a row and not get a single dally m point because that team was so good. Shifcoski had no real points threats in his team. He could have played 3 7/10 games in a row and still pick up a few dally m points

Dud team? The Raiders came 4th that year with a 16-8 record. So by your logic he must've single handedly carried them to that result, which would be even more impressive.

25 tries is still the record for a fullback unless I'm mistaken. I wouldn't pay much attention to Dally M scores. He was pretty lethal at the back end of 2002 as well, but after losing the first 8 straight the side was never making the finals.

Teddy is the Roos fullback now in an era of great fullbacks and it'll be his jersey for 5 yrs.
Five years is a very long time. He's already lost some of his speed. He's got the step and can read the play but he'll find those holes closing on him more and more. My fearless tip is that the Roosters will be looking to offload him within 2 years.

At least Albert is half trolling with his predictions.

You on the other hand actually believe your own dribble!

But keep talking the Roosters down. It worked out well for you last year :D

I certainly never saw Stewart do this:

or this:

Mini could be good but he could also be a complete unco and cost his team. Sorry but he is way down the list for mine.

Let's just stick to our clear and unbiased memories then.

I don’t think he’ll drop that far over 5 years.

In saying that, if he misses a single test or origin through injury he could easily be usurped by someone like Tom Turbo or Munster. Then there’s the rise of Ponga to keep in mind.

In saying that, he’s comfortably at the top of the tree right now.

I think this list should be for the classic career fullbacks who were consistent guns for a long time, in which case there is a clear 1 and 2

1. Slater
2. Stewart

Pretty big drop after that with probably Bowen next and the only one I can think worthy of the bronze.

Are you sure you are not Valheru? You both say the same shit. This is not talking the Roosters down. This is how they maintain their success, by getting rid of players before they become complete plodders, particularly those who have been brought in mid-career as marquee signings. It is common knowledge on this forum that I consider Tedesco to be grossly overrated and overpaid and thus he is a prime candidate for the finger somewhere down the track.
