Great Clear the Crap and Go For K Ponga, the 6 Million dollar Man!
I'd be happy if SGI were to swap Hunt for Ponga. At the time Newcastle signed Ponga we were getting rid of Dugan so it should have been Dugan to the Sharks and Ponga to SGI. Newcastle were no better than SGI at the time, so it was really a case of recruitment staff at Newcastle spun a better yarn than SGI for his signature.

SGI have missed quite a few good signings and then settled on lessor players for around the same coin.

We need a head coach who can manage it all with a range of staff who are competent and reporting directly to him.

I say bring in Gould to occupy a GM/Director Football position, he is that type of individual who could do a good job of it. Once he straitens thing out he could then appoint a head coach capable of doing a good job supported by a quality support staff who have genuine talent to complete their duties.

Not sure how. Ponga was signed at the end of 16 after he debuted for the Cowboys. Dragons were still reviewing a crap season before mucking around working out what to do with Dugan...as mcFook and Basil argued about where he best fits.and how much for 6 months.....until he signed what around mid 17.

You hit the nail on the head. Ponga was killing it in the lower grades and did some great things when promoted to the Cowboys first grade team of on few occasions. The fact is if Millward was doing his job properly, he should have had Ponga on the radar and he also should have had Ramien on the radar when it was clear our centres were struggling.

Instead Millward spent his time signing Ravalawa, Pearson, Maranta and other players who clearly were not ready for first grade. There was no like for like signings when we lost Nightingale and Macdonald.

Now we see reports that Dufty and Aitken have been given permission to seek other clubs for 2020 when Dufty was extended a further two years in 2019 and Aitken was continually preferred over Lomax and Ravalawa at right centre and now shown the door.

The idea of having recruitment and Head Coach separately reporting to the CEO has proved a failure and so it is time to find a head coach who has the management capability to control his coaching and recruitment staff.

We will be long odds next year
Seems a bigger gap at our club between firsts n reserves.
Always struggle with depth.
I reckon you would get short odds for the spoon.

I would not take it, I reckon Mary won't last the season, then you will improve.

That would make him the best paid hooker in the comp..

And where would you put McInness?

The Best Player in the Game right now is a Hooker, The most influential players when the Dragons won 11 in Row were Hookers (Ian Walsh and Killer Ken Kearney)!
McInness Maybe lock or Trade him to another Team for another Big Bopper!

Some of the most influential players in the game right now are the likes of Tedesco, Tommy Turbo, Ponga, CNK, RTS.......what do they have in common? Fullbacks! It's just the way the game has evolved over the years. Not saying hookers aren't extremely important, but i would rather see us get our FB shiz sorted before we even think about offloading or shifting the position of our best player and one of the best 3 or 4 hookers in the game at the moment.

And no, Dufty, Norman, Field etc are not our answer for FB. Lomax is our best option from within, but we won't really know until he's given a go but f**kface seems to think he's a winger at the moment, sigh!

Norman was never meant to play fullback, it was brought on by the early return of Widdop, the poor form of Dufty and the injury to Lomax. Hecwas bought as a 5/8 and thats where he will play next year.

Fullback is our biggest issue moving into 2020. I just hope they aren't pinning our hopes on young Sailor as the answer.

Tedesco is a fullback.

The most influential players when the Dragons won 11 in Row were Hookers
Provan was a 2nd rower and Gasnier was a centre.

Regardless of your lack of positional insights, the fact remains he would be the highest paid hooker in the game, but not even the best hooker in the game.

That makes no sense.
McInness Maybe lock or Trade him to another Team for another Big Bopper!
Why would you get rid of McInness instead of a non performing forward?

Again, makes no sense.
