I know there is going to be a lot of player movement but I seriously doubt there has been any method in the madness which has seen us allow a lot of players to leave without any apparent strategy around who we are going to bring in. I understand we will bring in players but I seriously doubt whether they will be any better that those who have been allowed to leave. I wish I could be more optimistic but there is nothing that fill’s me with any hope. Under this current regime we are in big trouble. I understand there will be some that lay the blame at Gus Gould but I don’t accept that. As it stands now I would have preferred to keep the same roster that was cap compliant in 2020 as opposed to where we are now.

I wouldn’t read too much into the demeanour of RCG.

He is a different sort of guy.

I agree he has not been great for us since his we’ll documented injuries but give we are contributing towards his salary with the Eels I’m not sure why we have let him leave,

Why not just keep him it is not as if we are going to bring in anyone better.

IMO we let him go because he's not going to be a leader of our forwards. With the coin he's reportedly on you need to be at either a leader or exceptionally talented, preferably both. Unfortunately RCG is neither.

I maybe being too negative but it does look like the culling of players is more a result of Cleary looking to blame everything on someone else / the players, rather than any sort of recruitment strategy.

There even more holes now. Minimum $500K of our cap subsidising the wages of DWZ, Blake and RCG for at least 2020 and probably longer in respect of DWZ & Blake.

It will be interesting to see who we bring because I can't help but feeling we may be a little underwhelmed.

Alex Glenn good player, has had a great career but we don't need 31 year old players whose best footy is behind them. Glad he is likely to be staying with Broncos.

I am just wondering the way Ivan left the Tigers in dishonour last year has made us a no go area unless utterly desperate.
Ivan's lack of success is hardly a draw card for a player seeking success and improvement in his game.

I think so. We'll still sign players of course, because our money is just as good as anyone else's and older players and fringe players gotta eat, but we are going to do very well to convince already polished players in their prime to come here in the search for success.
