Watching Drown score last night was the perfect example of why he is being wasted 2 out from the wing..

Usually he has to attack against a second rower/centre he danced around the middle and made a great break.

If Pou is right and Haze can not play fullback we are in deep shit if Gutherson goes down. Who is our back up?
In defence you put whichever player is safest back there, maybe Moses or Ferguson. In attack you play with one less playmaker. It's not ideal but it's better than having a couple of forwards depending 2 or 3 in, like in last year's final against Melbourne.

On Fergo's no try, when you slow it right down the ball literally touches a couple of white blades of tryline grass even though the ball was short. Those blades of grass just happen to be growing slightly forward of the main white strip that is the tryline. You see it plain as day. Now I don't know if just touching any of the white painted blades of grass constitutes a try or not, but that is what happened. If that is all that is needed, then we was robbed I tell ya, we was robbed!
I saw it exactly the same way. I was at the game and thought they were going to award the try for that reason.

My biggest issue with the commentators last night is how they kept complaining that we scored 3 tries from kicks - last time I checked, a try from a kick is a legitimate play, and it's still worth 4 points...

This antiquated notion that tries from kicks are anathema to the game is imbecilic.

If this was reversed I think I’d have been happy with the Marata hit on report and Drown to be binned but I keep rewatching them and where are either of them meant to go?
Marata was careless but Tedesco decides he’s too tall so will his legs to disappear and there wasn’t any malice in Drown. Was just coming in to make tackle but Hutchinson went to ground quicker than he could get there
I totally agree his left knee makes contact with the opponents back but he looks to be pulling out of the tackle. If he was deliberately going in with knees bot would have made contact, his right knee actually makes contact with the top of his head.

Marata made contact with the head but tedesco was falling, and no damage was done. So Is every high shot or contact with the head now going to come under scrutiny and face a charge? And agree re Drown. Where’s he to go? Running to stop a try and just an unfortunate incident. He can’t just stop or disappear

Marata and Brown will get 3 - 4 weeks. I'd run with this -

1.Guth
2. Ferg
3.Blake
4. Opacic
5. Sivo
6.Matterson
7 Moses
8 Rcg
9 Mahoney/ Smith if fit and Mahoneys rested.
10 rcg
11 Papa
12 Cartwright
13 Brown

14 Kafusi
15 Lane
16 Stone/Smith if fit
17 Hipgrave

Bar Mahoney I do not feel we would lose a whole lot.

I reckon Dunster will play before Waqa Blake does.

The only one I discount is Opacic’s but it’s also not like we get any reprieve when Fergo or Sivo spill a kick. The others were attacking kicks from dominant position, and it wasn’t like any of them were just winger catch and fall over line

I initially thought Marata’s was probably just unlucky to hit him as Paulo tackled him but after watching again and again, and it might be a bit victim blaming, but the only reason Tedesco is suddenly a foot shorter is because he decided to be.
Drown should’ve just come in with a swinging arm to the head. There’d be less uproar for that

It was against very tired defenders, though. I haven't seen him make a decent break other than that one in the last two years.

Was at the game last night and want to point out some things
- both incidents were accidents. Contact sport
- rorters constantly never back the 10 despite cecchin doing the double wave to get behind him
- also racing up well and truly before ball was even played with parra players sometimes not even making 2m before rorters had gang tackled our players
- hargrubs loves a leg pull or 10
- hargrubs went away from all the players at the end of the game and appeared disinterested in shaking hands..sook
- moses game management gone to next level
- tedesco constantly whingeing with ref..not sure if tactical to slow the play down
- Cartwright looks very switched on and ready to play. Astute signing.
- Lane was very good last night
- Matto worked his butt off. Great game
- that try Dylbro scored is what we have all been waiting for. That jink, step and pace was sublime..hopefully that gives him the confidence to go to another level
- rorters are tenacious. We are getting to that level...

This is why I suggested that he take on a roving support up the middle type of roll. If he did like Gutho and pushed up the middle third, Terry Lamb style, he would become a very affective attacking weapon. I don't know why he doesn't?

We're always the villains in the NRL media, the ones that like us or are even neutral towards us, Andy Raymond and Mark Gasnier, have been sacked.

Think back to 2010 when the panthers scored like 80% of their tries from kicks, and all the talk around their attack was positive. That's the difference between media darlings and us.

Finally, Issac Luke, someone that speaks sense. That has been his style forever and he is very lucky that he doesn't get clocked in the head every week. The game is played at a tremendous pace and if a player drops at the last second, wham-O accidents happen.

He shouldn't get more then a week for mine and even that to me is tough for a total accident, but I get there is a no tolerance rule supposedly, or until their is the next tolerance shown.

This is the problem, they will go hard on our players now, but in a month or two they will be as inconsistent as ever and let others off. Just watch.
