Once everyone has calmed down, they'll all come to the realisation that it was a correct penalty. The player who escorted the Cows winger had eyes for him, and cost the team the game, and I have looked at it a few times. The player who gave away that pen should be dropped for next weekend IMO. It is a very bitter pill to swallow, but at least it was a great improvement.
If the ref penalised it everyone cops it on the chin. He didn’t make the call so everything that happened after that shouldn’t have been possible.

you can’t just make up the fkn rules as you go along.

If he saw the play and, like every one on here, knew the call was correct then anyone with integrity would accept that the call was correct and leave it at that.

As I said though I don't think there is anyone playing the game today with that level of integrity.
Or any sport.

Best example is cricket. Under your definition above, if someone had ‘integrity’ in cricket they would never appeal for a wicket unless they were willing to use a review if the appeal was turned down.

The win would have, and for mine they deserved it.

But that's not my point.

Arguing that they should do something no other club has done in 110 years is a weird take.

It's not just cheating from Kyle Feldt, it's also cheating by the ref on the field and the ref in the bunker, it just looks so bad.

I can excuse Feldt though, every team has a player who tries to pull those stunts, the NRL are going to have to be outstanding in the way that they explain this.

I cannot wait to hear Annersley explain that one.

I’m no ref basher, they have a f**king hard job and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to do it.

I think generally speaking a lot of calls in the NRL are 50-50 and sometimes you get some and sometimes you don’t.

Now there are bad calls you can live with at the end of the day but then there is GENUINE INCOMPETENCE and that is what we have seen this afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Take the circumstances away (that is was last second and that it looked like the Tigers had just pulled it out of their arses). But the officiating there firstly the handling by the Referee on field allowing a challenge in the first place but then for Ashley Klein to somehow come to the conclusion that was an escort is beyond me.

Tigers fans you have every neutral and probably 99% of Cowboys supporters sympathy, that was unbelievable.

There would be a lot of games going to court, if it was based solely on a fans judgement of a player "diving" and a referee "cheating"

I would say cricket would be one of the few sports with that level of integrity in some players at least.

I've seen batsmen walk after being given not out for caught behind because they knew they hit the ball and fielders taking half volley catches ask umpires to overturn or at least check the catch after the umpire has given the batsman out.

Exactly.

My favourite is the Broncos fan on this thread, saying the Cowboys should insist that the NRL over turn the result.

f**k me, hold the club to a standard that's not been met by any club since 1908.

Seems fair
Calm your tits babes. I think it was actually a Roosters fan that first suggested the result be overturned due to an erroneous challenge, and I would suspect that fans from every club would agree with that sentiment.

Ok fair enough, why can't we have access to that? You're defending the officials now
You keep trying to accuse me of something.

Like I said, the TV clock is irrelevant.

The official time keeper is the one that matters, and currently no-one knows what time was left from the try being scored.

Nope? I didn't say any of that. If anyone is accountable for it, it is Feldt for the 10/10 dive and Klein Kampf for the howler.

Sigh

Players run into each other all the time in situations like this. How many times do you see a kick up through and attacking players run into defenders seeking a penalty ? How is Feldt doing it different to the multitude of other times players do the same ? Because it effected the result of the match. That only happened because the refs are f**king spastics

Running into defenders like that happens all the time. It was the refs who f**ked this one up

But those same players will appeal for a caught behind and then not use a challenge when the umpire turns it down.

I know it is a bit of a mixed up analogy because here there was a challenge, but isn’t this a similar situation?ie you are appealing for something you are not 100% sure about?

Yes, and I totally understand the sentiment. Not that it would ever happen.

Suggestions that the Cowboys should "decline" the 2 points is laughable though.

Both players were contesting for the ball after the short kick off, ran into each other, Kyle Feldt falls over after the collision, Daine Laurie takes clean possession = play on until siren and West Tigers victory. Not sure why Ashley Klein saw it differently?
