Ciraldo would be ideal. Cos the perenial coach whinging could welcome him with optimism, but then turn on him and claim they were never convinced and shit can the board ..... its a win win.

I’m glad such an important decision comes down to a few games. Awesome!
It’s a collective but these last few games are critical. I think he knows that too which is why his management have already enquired to other clubs about the future. The Dogs approach was real.

Might as well just shut the club down, then, if the entire exercise is futile...

I think we need fresh ideas.
Some "young" coaches have unexpectedly done well this year like Payton and Kevvy Walters.
THat is why I think Billy Slater would be a good option. He is a good RL brain, high profile, has some personality, comes from a club/REP background where the team was always 100% fired up. That sounds like what we need.

I can see plenty of people getting their hopes up again only to be disappointed. Probably in everyone's best interests.

That's definitely a valid point of view.

And to be fair, I can't say with 100% certainty that a change would amount to much.

But I think it's fair to say that Brad has reached the zenith of his abilities, and a change is at least worth investigating.

Not saying he shouldn't go. I said as much back in 2018. Just not expecting much from the next poor bastard.

What he would bring is a ruthless winning culture. At least that’s what I sense. I dare say he would entice many players and not suffer fools. In the media he is definitely the standout of the Melbourne brigade.

100%. Listening to Cronk, Cam Smith and Billy in commentary has me pretty convinced Billy was the key to their success (apart from Bellamy). Cronk and Cam are a bit dopey.

Matty Johns did a one on one with Payten ... dunno if anyone saw it ... i thought it was good.

What surprised me was that Payten seemed quiet and reserved. I had a feeling he had a bit of agro in him and is firm. But i didnt get that vibe from the interview. Of course tv interviews are very different to coaching, some people arent comfortable with the camera.

I don’t know why it’s that hard when we collectively have just achieved it here:

So all we do is sack BA. Try and get Todd Payten or Billy Slater and if that fails and we are desperate give Flanno a call.

On field success vs coaching success is very different.

And talking about footy is very different to a nrl coaching career.

Sterlo was good at talking about footy, but he was realstic enough to know coaching would do him in (and why bother when you are on a shit hot pay packet anyway)

I have no opinion if Billy would translate to a good coach. Talking sense on tv doesnt make that happen .... agree he is smart and would command respect - and probably would go well tactically. But there is still a f**kload more to being a nrl coach.

Cam Smith was a great defacto coach while playing. But i think he might have a personality some players might struggle with. I reckon its a fine line between being their boss and their confidant - and still having footy and management nouse. Gibson, Wayne, Bellamy and Robo obviously are the types who manage that.

I actually suspect Cronk might be the pick of the Storm players as a coach.

One thing that shits me about BA is he does not see it as his job to have the team motivated. (He is a dull character without any personality so he couldn't motivate even if he thought it was his job).
But enthusiasm seems to be the biggest variable for the team. When we win against the big sides it is because we are playing hyped up, every time we lose we are out enthused.
So if BA cant motivate them at least get someone in (maybe Tony Robins or Henry Rollins) in the weeks motivation is going to be predicably down (which is every week we aren't playing Melbourne or Penrith).
BA is a passive aggressive type, I reckon he gives the silent treatment, when we need a coach that screams in the players faces.
